The Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court has released new court documents that provided updates on the current status of WWE Doctor Chris Amann suing Phil “CM Punk” Brooks and Colt Cabana.
The reason for the lawsuit is because of comments Punk made during an appearance on Colt Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast last November about Amann’s treatment of Punk while in WWE.
Punk and Cabana filed an “Answer to the Complaint Filed” and an “Affirmative Defense.” The two men are trying to use a form of legal grounds to seek a dismissal of Amann’s claim and/or justify their actions that would satisfy the claim.
Presiding Judge Janet Brosnahan continued the case to February 1, 2016
