ThunderStruck: WWE Main Event Analysis 11/04/14

Stardust takes on Jey Uso. Jey wins with a superkick and schoolboy rollup after five minutes of back and forth action.

^Basic but enjoyable. Nice way to start the program. I assume we’ll get something longer later.

Natalya talks to Tyson backstage and tells him that she will always have his back. She spills her guts and apologizes. He lifts his headphones off and thanks her for the apology. Silly Total Divas storylines continuing on the show. Lame.

Justin Gabriel takes on Curtis Axel. Axel wins the match in four and a half minutes. Axel gets the pin with a running knee to the head.

^That was short. JBL and Cole talked about the history of Axel not being as successful as he had hoped thus far in WWE. We all see the flawed booking patterns, but obviously we’re too stupid to have better ideas.

We have a Sami Zayn video package aired. Dude is insanely talented.

Tyson Kidd is taking on Sami Zayn from NXT right now! Ole chants to start the match(El Generico). French Canadian superstar from Syrian descent. That’s a mouthful. Tyson gets the pin in roughly ten and a half minutes as he grabs the trunks for a rollup.

^That was a great back and forth match. Zayn’s shoulder wasn’t down for all of that count. Kidd as a heel is boring, but at least it gives him something to do. Outstanding professional wrestling in this match, and now the world has had another chance to see Sami Zayn in action!

My concern is that we’ve had three matches with two being average and one being really good, but now there’s still 18 minutes left of this program. How much more are we going to see?

Raw highlights. There’s some time wasted when we could have had longer matches.

Bray Wyatt takes on Sin Cara in our final match of the show. Wyatt wins the match in just under four minutes with his sister abigail finisher.

^People love Bray Wyatt, and he looked dominant here. Too bad he was irrelevant for half the summer after being crushed by John Cena multiple times. Horrible logic by WWE.

Four good matches on a well booked show works for me. Zayn was icing on the cake. It’s an 8 out of 10 edition of WWE Main Event for me. The storylines and booking logic might be off the charts awful, but the wrestling presented to us has been good.
