- John Cena could be kept out of the ring for as long as two months after undergoing surgery to remove bone chips in his elbow Tuesday. The official WWE website announced Wednesday at 5:40 p.m. that the prognosis for his recovery is now six to eight weeks.

Their statement reads, “The information published about John Cena’s recovery was given to WWE.com prior to surgery. In speaking to Dr. Andrews after the procedure, in light of the amount of work that needed to be done and the number of bone chips removed, the prognosis for recovery is closer to six to eight weeks. Knowing John Cena, the former WWE Champion will do everything he needs to get back in the ring as soon as possible.”

In a Twitter message Wednesday, Cena disputed WWE’s report Tuesday that he would be sidelined for two to three weeks. He wrote, “I spoke in depth with my surgeon Dr James Andrews and he specifically told me due to the amount of fragmentation, SIX WEEKS is a safer time table for recovery. I apologize on behalf of a website whos credibility is now equal to #theonion please @wwe web guys, get your monkey frankin facts straight!”

– Big Show will return to Nickelodeon’s “Supah Ninjas” to reprise his role of “Two-Ton Harley,” a biker and prison escapee. The official WWE website announced Wednesday that “The World’s Largest Athlete” is taping an episode this week for the teen action comedy’s upcoming second season.

Due to John Cena undergoing arm surgery Tuesday, Big Show will return to action at this week’s Raw live events as CM Punk’s opponent. He had requested and received time off following SummerSlam.

Can I just ask why Taker vs. Punk is a bad idea? If Cena can’t face Punk, who’s really left to face him? A face Big Show? Randy Orton? Just for one PPV. Undertaker WOULD put over Punk.

  • Tim

Cena will be back in three weeks. They do this with all of his injuries so he comes off as a superhero. The neck in 08 was “up to a year” …came back in three months. The pec in 07 was 6-8 months…back in three. It’s just so they can say “he defied all the doctors and came back early.” Even if he can’t wrestle, we will still get 30+ minutes of him every week on raw no matter what

I took 1 st loan when I was 32 and that supported me a lot. But, I require the short term loan also.

Unfortunately, Cena probably just shows up to Raw every week and doesn’t wrestle, then does at HIAC. I don’t wish injuries on Cena but I hope his recovery takes a little longer than HIAC, because if Cena doesn’t face Punk, then we know for a fact Punk’s retaining the title.

  • Undertaker

theres no way in hell that Undertaker would lose to cm suks keep dreaming @Bill.

  • Bill

This is a stretch, but would the Undertaker be able to return to face Punk? If Cena can’t return until after HIAC, Punk vs. Taker would be awesome, & the Deadman would definitely put Punk over, like he did with Lesnar 10 years ago.

@ me come on now, don’t you know that everybody is forced to love, cheer, and care about cena…..this has been going on for years lol

Lesnar Vs. Punk at HIAC for the title and put Heyman on commentary for the match. Problem Solved

  • Jimbotron

Is it really, or is WWE just saying that so when he appears at HIAC it looks all amazing and crap?

  • Tom

Great, now we will have a cell match that makes no sense what so ever!

  • me
