- After last month’s Slammiversary pay-per-view event drew approximately 15,000 buys, the purchase number for the Destination X show on July 8 fell to 9,000 buys, according to early estimates. This is approximately the same level their pay-per-view events garner with the exception of Slammiversary, Lockdown and Bound for Glory.

Destination X was headlined by Austin Aries vs. Bobby Roode for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and an X Division Tournament to determine a new TNA X Division Champion.

– Christopher Daniels’ performance in the ongoing Claire Lynch angle has drawn high marks from TNA Wrestling honchos Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan. The 41-year-old had acting experience before entering professional wrestling as he performed in theater.

– Velvet Sky has been announced to appear for Impact Championship Wrestling on September 29 at The Armenian Cultural & Educational Center 47 Nichols Avenue, Watertown, Massachusetts 02472. She will be in action and will also accompany Danny Demanto for his match against Sami Callihan.

Daniels has always been a great worker and a damn good heel. It’s about time TNA notices and does something with the guy. He deserves so much more.

Really? 15,000 ppv buys? How can a company be bleeding money like that and not go under? How long til the parent company cuts it’s losses? Not saying anything about the product, but when you have that few ppv buys, how can you pay for the venue and staff, let alone the performers? I never would have guessed that the buys were that low. Guess it won’t be too long til it’s just WWE again.

Been saying it for years a good percentage of wrestling fans are all talk give them what they want and they still won’t order the ppv why do you think WWE had to go back to putting Cena in the main event? If you want anything to change support the product when you’re getting something you actually enjoy!

    FORTY ONE YEAR OLD, SHIT.

and he still moves like that. More power to him.

I didn’t much care for Daniels before this angle….He’s really become a heel that I love to watch.

  • Effmenow

I hope this doesn’t discourage the workers there. Just because most people didn’t order the ppv doesn’t mean it sucked. It was honestly one of the best ppv’s of the year.

Daniels has been excellent in this new “unscripted” format. His rise has been deserved. He’s been carrying the storyline, to be honest.
