TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter announced Tuesday that all TNA programming in the U.K. will air on Sky TV channel Challenge beginning next month.

Challenge TV will broadcast iMPACT! each week, as well as Xplosion and monthly pay-per-view events.

TNA’s television situation in the U.K. had been limbo since January 1 when its former home, Bravo, was shut down.

Challenge TV generally airs game show programs, but is available to Sky, Virgin, and Freeview systems. By getting on Freeview, TNA programming will eventually be available to every television in the United Kingdom (once the UK Digital Switchover is completed in 2012).

At yesterday’s live event in Dublin, Ireland, Carter informed the live audience that TNA signed a new television distribution agreement in the U.K.

ok challange , didnt see that coming but hey means we get ALL tna programming, it’ll be interesting to see how they market tna and what delay we will have between the shows it was 2 days when it was on bravo for impact and 5 days for the ppv’s, wonder if they will keep it the same or change it. I remember the bulldog pop and still to this day wonder why vince and the wwe never capitalized on it by bringing summerslam or one of the other big 4 back to the uk

It seems like a strange choice for a channel but as mentioned that means that Impact will be available to far more viewers than WWE programming. TNA have an opportunity for mass expansion within the UK if they market their product well. Their wrestlers need to be doing lots of interviews with the print media and on TV. TNA has quite a few British employees who could attract a lot of attention. Remember the massive pop for British Bulldog at Summerslam 92? I doubt the company will ever reach that level, but the potential is there.
