Tommy Dreamer reveals cancelled plans for ECW invasion of WCW

Plans are sure to fall apart in pro wrestling, with many plans not even seeing the light of day. Invasion angles, in particular, fall apart despite a solid start.

On his House Of Hardcore podcast, Tommy Dreamer recently spoke about some cancelled plans for an ECW invasion of WCW. It is a shame that it did not happen, as it seemed to be a solid idea. Here is what he said:

“I get the phone call from Raven. He said ‘hey I got to talk to you’ there was gonna be a mass exodus from Extreme Championship Wrestling.”

”In a deal that was made underneath the table. Todd Gordon, who was the ex-owner of ECW, facilitated a deal between WCW and ECW wrestlers. Legend has it, because I’ve never spoken to Todd about it, through Terry Taylor. They wanted a bunch of men to leave ECW and jump to WCW and do an extreme invasion. Raven was the one who called me and tells me what’s going on. ‘WCW is making an offer. They want Raven, Tommy, The Eliminators, The Pitbulls, Bill Alfonso, Sabu and The Sandman to all leave at once”

Things would have been better for WCW had this storyline actually gone through.

Things would have been better for WCW had this storyline actually gone through.

How the hell can you know that things would have been better for WCW if it had gone through?
That is the most ridiculous statement of fact I have seen in ages.
For all you know, if it had gone through it might have completely tanked just like when they had their own hardcore division and Sandman went over there and they changed his name to Hack.
