Warning: Spoilers for the Mae Young Classic and the NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament.
Toni Storm was one of the top signings for WWE’s women’s division this year. With the 2018 Mae Young Classic and the NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament taking place this past month, it was assumed that Storm would win at least one of those events.
However, Rhea Ripley ended up as the inaugural champion, and it seems that Storm was injured during that tournament.
Reportedly, after her match with Ripley in the UK tournament, the referee threw up the ‘X’ signaling a serious injury had taken place. Storm walked to the back on her own, and there has been no official word from the WWE regarding her injury. However, Progress and wXw have removed her from upcoming tapings, and wXw have even stripped her of their championship.
BREAKING: due to an injury sustained at the weekend, @tonistorm_ is out of this weekend's PROGRESS shows in Hamburg, Oberhausen and Frankfurt. News soon on a replacement.
