Triple H invites Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor to Monday Night Raw

WWE’s Paul “Triple H” Levesque was interviewed by Sky Sports News (SSN) in the UK yesterday and over the course of the conversation invited Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather to come to Monday Night Raw.

The Game was asked about the historic fight and mentioned how entertaining it will be, saying that both men should show the world what they’ve got on Monday Night Raw.

“All sports is entertainment, news is entertainment today, it is just the way of the world.¬†Everything is entertainment, that is what people do with their time. This is no different.

I think there is an interest level there. Can a world-class boxer, probably the best ever, can he stand in the ring with an MMA guy?

And can that MMA guy bring his striking skills up to the level of somebody like Floyd Mayweather?

The one thing it will be, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is entertaining, he added.

One thing Floyd Mayweather is, he is entertaining. Conor McGregor is entertaining.

You say it is sports entertainment and, if they want to really showcase what they can do, I would invite both guys to come to Monday Night Raw!

There is no bigger platform that they could have to show the world and tell the world, who they are, and why they are the man.”

Both men are no strangers to WWE, Mayweather having fought and defeated the Big Show back at WrestleMania 24, while McGregor has toyed with the idea of professional wrestling for a long time and has been more than vocal in his opinion of WWE on social media.

There’s really only ONE writer. A bunch of people come up with stuff, and it all goes through Vince. If he doesn’t like it, you have to rewrite it until he approves it. So in a sense, he writes all of it, except for NXT. But maybe he wants to control that too. I dunno if it’s him or Haitch green-lighting that stuff. But I agree, Vince needs to go.

Then I stand corrected. Looking at the resumes of the ALL the current writing staff for WWE shows there is very little in terms of substance. Pretty much all of them are former indie wrestlers. If not that, just journalism majors.

In any event, the need to stop trying to book WWE LIKE Hollywood. What works on regular episodic TV shows does not work the same way in pro-wrestling outside of a stray angle here and there.

    I think that….

    A. There are too many people writing.

    B. There need to be more people writing that have had far more seasoned careers in the business. A guy like Al Snow or Jake Roberts (although I would worry about him having that pressure on him and causing him to relapse.) Same with Scott Hall. Great mind for the business, BUT you worry about him being around so much temptation. Probably best they stay away even though they would do a world of good.

    C. Vince need to retire. I think that he is at the core of why a lot of things stink right now. He will never step-down, but someone needs to step-in and make the decision for him.

Hollywood writers? The only writers that I know of, are guys who have been with the company for years (Ed Koskey, Ryan Ward, Dewey Foley for some reason, etc.). No one from Hollywood, unless you’re referring to Freddie Prince Jr., who left in 2009.

Of course he wants them to show up on RAW. They are desperate to do anything to bring up those ratings EXCEPT admit they are responsible, get out of the way, and let someone else have a shot. Get rid of all these stupid Hollywood writers and bring back WRESTLERS to do the writing.

Just no! Why have entertainment when we can have another 30 minute wrestling match with next to no story development instead! The “no bigger platform” remark was funny too!
