After the official announcement of a Women’s Tournament back in early April, the WWE CEO announced via his twitter account yesterday that the tournament would be named after the former WWE Star Mae Young and will be called Mae Young Classic.
In the tweet seen below in which the Game revealed the official name of the tournament, he also revealed that it will be held on July 13h and 14th, from the home of NXT, Full Sail University:

After the announcement, female WWE Superstars from past and present showed their applause to this step of WWE through various tweets as seen below:

It was also announced that the tickets for the upcoming 32-Women tournament will go on sale from 10 am ET Friday at NXTTickets.com. Though WWE is yet to announce the participants for the tournament.
It’s worth noting that WWE has successfully held two tournaments with international superstars in the past couple of years including the Cruiserweight Classic and the WWE UK Championship Tournament.
Both these tournaments culminated with the crowning of a new Champion within WWE and had long term implications behind them.
So it wouldn’t be a surprise if WWE makes any big announcement to take the Women’s Revolution to the next level before or during this tournament.
