Triple H and Vince McMahon Bump Heads on Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Not Headlining HIAC

According to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is a lot of frustration backstage between Triple H and Vince McMahon over Vince not wanting the Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Hell In A Cell match headlining the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view (PPV) event. Vince has been very against the idea while Triple H has been backing it hard:

“What everyone needs to understand is that there’s no one who understands the outside less than the man who makes all the decisions,” a source close to the situation told the Observer. “We just have to find a respectful way to change his mind.”

While it is possible Vince could have a change of heart leading up to Sunday, as of Tuesday he has been very much against the idea. One of the key arguments in the women main eventing the show is due to the PPV being held in Banks’ hometown. As of this writing the main event of the show looks to be the Universal Title match between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins, or Roman Reigns vs. Rusev for the United States Title.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

Ronda Rousey is the face of the UFC. Hilary Clinton could be our next president. It’s time to let the women shine. Why not have Sasha Banks vs Charlotte main event the PPV.

womens wrestling is rubbish. everyone knows this. i want them to have the main event just so its an epic fail. women in WWE are a side show. could you ever imagine a female wrestling promotion with a small male division? nobody would watch that. and if you want female wrestlers, just have them wrestle the men. its not REAL so why not? women fight men in films. thinking out loud here but i wonder do the NFL or other pro sporrs league officially consider themselves male sports or IF a woman was good enough wouldnt she just be given the job because she would help them win. i think there was a woman who played goaltender in NHL once. surely if a woman was strong and fast enough an NFL team would hire her. so it kinda makes me confused what WWE are doing. the actual sports would hire females if they are good enough im assume because why not and entertainment has males and females fight all the time yet the WWE which is both separates the sexes. i know they have the cruiserweight division now but if any of those guys become popular theyll be fighting brock & roman and main eventing WM etc..

is this a joke? They deserve it. The whole “home town” thing means nothing UNLESS they and you guys just confirmed that Sasha is going to win. Reading this now that confirms they plan on having her win. So Shasha is going to keep the belt. Which is okay with me.

    Lmao

  • jedi

They do not deserve the main event….

  • Solid

Hey, I’m sure they have a degree from the prestigious copypaste university, or they wouldn’t be here. 😛

  • Kayfabe_Is_Dead

I think the fans will get behind the women the same way they got behind James Ellsworth.

  • Kayfabe_Is_Dead

I know, right… LOL! Fortunately it does clarify this statement in the next sentence…

    Gotta love these internet “journalists”.

First off 3 HIAC matches in one night is stupid. It’s overkill of a gimmick match. This is as stupid an idea as the TNA Lockdown PPVs where all the matches were in a cage. After the second one, no one will care anymore. Personally, I’d take Rusev/Reigns out of the HITC. No one wants to see this match to begin with, much less in a HITC on a night where there are two more matches in there. The Women’s match is the only one anyone is interested in bc of the novelty of it. It should be the main event.

This article is a bit confusing as it says Vince does not want the match to not headline. Which means he wants it to headline.
What is it? He does not want it to headline or he does want it to not headline?

The go home match is always supposed to be the match people want to see the most. Apparently Vince doesn’t remember what happened at WMX-8. Before someone says. “Well they didn’t know the crowd would react that way.” c’mon. It was Hulk Hogan in his first WWF match in 9 years vs The Rock. No matter WHAT happened it was going to be huge.

Charlotte V. Sasha needs to be the main event. End of story.

Seems like they’re still undecided about who’s headlining. No wonder they’re calling it a “triple” main event. Vince should just shut it and let this one happen. It’s Sasha’s hometown, the women are “breaking” a barrier, they’re on the match being advertised on the poster and probably the only match people are going to be talking about regardless if it’s a dud or not. I get why he’s hesitant about it because once you open that door it can never be closed again and then we’ll hearing about women’s steel cage matches and tlc matches that people will be demanding be the main event. A lot of positives and a lot of negatives. I still say do it, hometown hero making “history” should just let it happen at least just this once. All things considered I’m not too excited for this ppv at all, is anybody really excited for Owens vs Rollins and Reigns vs. Rusev? Most likely outcome for the title matches, everybody retains. Still hoping for the Screw Day to finally drop them.

If Banks vs Flair doesnt go on last, whoever main events will be booed out the building from the start of the match. IF they think the Lesnar segment was back, wait for their reaction on this.

If im completely honest, i dont exactly care for Sasha vs Charlotte in a HIAC environment either.

The match iself is going to be great dont get me wrong but all this HIAC stuff is kind of an overkill now, which really takes the sine off it for me.

Especially when it used to be the ultimate feud ender type match filled with drama and excitement
