Tyler Reks Releases Statement on Release from WWE

Tyler Reks posted the following on his Twitter account in regards to his release from WWE.

I just want to say thank you to WWE, Inc. for allowing me to be part of an incredible entertainment experience. On Monday, I asked for my release and the company was gracious enough to grant my request.

I realized recently that being a Superstar means sacrificing certain things, including time with my family. As a new father, my heart broke every time I had to leave to go on the road. I didn’t ever want to miss another moment with my daughter, so I made the decision to be a full time dad and hang up my boots.

I will miss everyone in the locker room tremendously as they have all become a second family to me. I want to thank my coaches and teachers that really helped me along the way: Fit Finlay, Arn Anderson, Edge, Christian, Kane, Jericho, Dr. Tom, Norman Smiley, and Billy Kidman.

I also want to thank my boys. You know who you are. Especially though, a huge thank you to Hawkins. You were like a brother to me the last year and I’ll miss you and will always love you bro. I wish you the best and thanks for understanding that I had to go be a dad. When she’s older, and able to realize what happened, I know Mia will thank you as well.

Thanks to all the dedicated fans of #ReksAndHawkins and to The #RekkingCrew. I would never have survived without you.

Tyler Reks SOLD OUT on the fans by leaving the WWE.

    What a selfish man.

If you cared to read his statement he said he owns an internet marketing company. I’m sure he will be able to make some decent money there if he already hasn’t been.

    Learn to read.

Used, under used, what damn difference does it make at this point. The man did what is right for his family and himself, I totally respect him for that.
He did not go out being a crybaby and I am sure he has big plans for his future and for the futer of his new daughter. In reply to another comment about what he will do if he is not able to support his family with his internet marketing co.? Well he will probably do exactly what most people do and get a job.Being with your family is a whole lot more important than how much you earn, just as long as you have food on the table and a roof over your head.

That sucks to hear. I never grew got into him because the WWE barely utilized him. I will always see him as a low-card guy. But that’s not his fault. I don’t blame him for leaving so he can be with his daughter more.

it’s official, the male stripper gimmick in the WWE is cursed, unless your are fat and naked and oily, sadly Big Dick Johnson was the most successful male stripper gimmick in the WWE and he wasn’t a wrestler, he was a fat guy who was a part of the creative team.

@anon – isnt being able to support your family important as well? if he is not able to support his family through his internet marketing company – then what –

    You’re a dick.

There are more important things than $ in life, and family is most definitely one of them.

At this point, Curt Hawkins should go back to Zack Ryder & finally bring Z: TLIS to TV in some capacity. The tag team division needs a fresh & believable face team. Truth & Kofi are good, but they were literally thrown together. Ryder needs it, Curt needs it, & the tag division needs it.

You I like and respect how went out. He didn’t go out crying and saying how he wasn’t use enough it was just thank you for the chance. I get so sick of wrestlers who get let go saying how they were not use right. I always take a good long look at that wrestler and wonder if he was even worth pushing. Like somebody else once said not every wrestler is build to be a Superstar. I feel the IWC always look at the guy who is being fire like AW thinking WWE had no reason to fire the guy when in fact the WWE had every right. God Bless Reks hey can’t blame the guy for wanting to have a family.

He lives down here in Tampa, I have talked to him a couple times and he is a real nice guy, WWE really could have done something good with him. I am sure he will be back though at some point.

  • me

He was mentally retarded abd a horrible wrestler, not a single fuck given, good riddance.

  • 1919dpg

what a stupid thing to do. the economy is terrible right now and he had a damn good job.

  • Cakes

Not to be ignorant rude to any particular superstar, but whenever news breaks out that the WWE has released a star, there is always someone to claim that “he/she was so under rated or never properly used”. Bullshit, everyone cant be at the top and some performers aren’t used because there is no reason to use them. All in all, best of luck to him anyway

  • Jimbo

Oh man, his new tag gimmick with Hawkins looked promising too. Can’t fault his reasoning though. Best of luck to him.

  • Lew

it is kind of a surprise because he asked to be released when I read the title I thought WWE released him because they barely use him

  • mark

This is hardly a suprise, he was so underused
