UFC 124 Draws Record Attendance of 23,152 with $4.6

The UFC’s fourth venture to the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada was another success for the promotion.

Saturday’s UFC 124 event drew 23,152 attendees for a live gate of $4.586 million, according to UFC President Dana White.

The attendance for the event set a new North American MMA record. The previous record holder was the April 18, 2009 event, UFC 97: Redemption, which drew an attendance of 21,451.

Though the live gate for UFC 124 is impressive, the North American MMA record for a live gate still belongs to the December 30, 2006 event, UFC 66: Liddell vs. Ortiz II, which earned $5,397,300.

The upcoming UFC 131 event on April 30 at Toronto, Ontario, Canada’s 69,000-seat Rogers Centre is expected to break both the attendance and live-gate records.
