UFC is getting started early in 2011 as they will hold there first event on New Years Day at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with UFC 125.
UFC 125 is headlined by a Lightweight title fight when current champion Frankie Edgar(13-1) rematches no.1 contender Gray Maynard(10-0). Maynard came out victorious in their last meeting, and beat top ranked Kenny Florian in his last fight. While in his last two fights Edger has beaten former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion B.J. Penn.
In the co. main event top-ranked heavyweights Shane Carwin (12-1) and Roy Nelson (15-5) meet on the New Years Day show.
