UFC President Dana White Explains Why He Called Pro Wrestling Fake

After several weeks after saying that pro wrestling was fake and offending several wrestlers as well as fans, UFC President Dana White appeared on the Chad Dukes Wrestling Show (Wednesdays at 7pm on CBS Radio’s 106.7 The Fan DC, Podcast available on iTunes & Play.it) to address those comments.

White offered the following clarification to his comments.

“Listen, try to do anything today without pissing people off. Try it. I mean anything you say people get mad, you just gotta not care and I don’t care. Anything you say on Twitter or Instagram or anywhere these days every week I have a different group mad at me so you know it ‘s always something, but it’s still the world we live in today. My Twitter and social media has been exactly the same since the day I got on it and one of the things, you said it best, the more successful you become, the bigger something gets, the harder it is to be yourself and to really speak honestly because somebody ends up getting mad. You literally just have to get to the point where you just don’t care who gets mad and that’s that’s that’s how I am.”

“I’ve had my, you know, my battles with Vince [McMahon] behind the scenes with some stuff that we’ve worked on, but I respect all the guys in the WWE in the wrestling profession. We have so many guys that are that are fans of the UFC and when they come to the events we take very good care of ’em, we treat ’em with respect, I have yet to meet a bad guy from the wrestling world. Everybody is really classy and everybody’s really cool. My wrestling thing was just a response to an idiot on social media that was talking smack so I kind of gave him a zinger back and the whole wrestling world went crazy on me. But it is what it is, to be honest with you I really don’t care.”

Listen dufus, go back to your stupid, low paying job, while I continue to get snow delivered to my house in Vegas. If you don’t like me or UFC then don’t buy our ppvs. We don’t need you. We’re challenging soccer on the global scale as the biggest sport in the world. We’re bigger than the NFL. UFC is worth more than $3 billion.

Just kidding. But seriously, UFC needs to replace Dana as their mouthpiece cause he keeps putting BS out there and like you said is unprofessional. Fertitta is more level-headed and better with the media and public. Its even Dana’s fault that they’re facing a class action lawsuit from fighters now for basically being a monopoly. Partly because he posted things on social media talking about how they “killed” Pride, and will buy other organizations, etc. Dana should just be happy that he’s alive and making money. Whitey Bulger and his crew were gonna end him and thats why he ran from the Boston area.

And once again White comes across as an unprofessional tool.
Nothing he ever says is actually admitting what he said was dumb.
Vince may do some dumb things and not always be the most clued up guy as to what fans want, but he is 1000 times a better promoter than White.
