UFC Veteran Kalib “The Running Man” Starnes Retires

Following a second round technical knockout loss at AFC 6 to John Salter, 36 year old UFC veteran Kalib “The Running Man” Starnes has officially announced his retirement.

The Surrey, British Columbia native told reporters, “I am probably going to retire. I am 36 years old… this was my last fight”

The once formidable middleweight holds victories over Chris Leben and Jason MacDonald. However his fight against Nate Quarry at UFC 83 is that which he’ll likely be remembered for. For reasons still unknown, Starnes refused to engage Quarry, and back peddled for a near full fifteen minutes, which drew boos from the crowd and hilarious taunts from Quarry.
