Undisputed Era to be stripped of Titles; Fish to undergo surgery

The Undisputed Era has been on a roll since their debut back at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III. Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly, formerly ReDragon, captured the NXT Tag Team Championship back in December, defeating SAnitY on the December 20 edition of NXT.

Since then, the Undisputed Era has defended the titles twice, defeating the team of Aleister Black and Roderick Strong, and besting the Authors of Pain at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia.

However, it seems that the first title run for Fish and O’Reilly will, sadly, come to an end due to injury. It was reported earlier that Bobby Fish left a match early at a live event after injuring his knee.

PWInsider has reported that Fish appeared at the latest tapings of NXT on crutches. The word is that Fish will have to undergo surgery later in the week.

As far as the titles go, it looks like the champions will have to relinquish their belts. The original plan was for Fish and O’Reilly to defend their titles at NXT Takeover: Orlando against the winners of this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. However, with Fish out of action for the moment, it seems the tournament will now be for the titles.
