- Chris Jericho will be appearing on Adam Carolla’s podcast that airs this Friday at AdamCarolla.com.

– Former WWE star Tajiri will launch his new “Wrestling New Classic” promotion on April 26th at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo, Japan. The promotion will debut at Korakuen Hall on May 24th. Tajiri’s WNC is using most of the same wrestlers from the now defunct SMASH promotion but with new financial partners.

– While official numbers aren’t out yet, early indications from cable companies show that WWE’s WrestleMania 28 did around 1.1 million buys. WWE originally predicted 1.3 million buys for the show but lowered their expectations to 1 million on the day of the show.

    sorry but why did my last comment get a thumbs down? there was nothing negative in it at all

  • JayHawk

    @johncena33
    It was just a point and if you are asking me what site I watched it on guess you were looking for it to. And for me allot of bars around here will play certain wrestling ppv and urchin or boxing where you can go and watch for free which is where I went.

  • Jon-Jon

    And TNA is gonna do, tops, 10 thousand buys for Lockdown? And that’s supposed to be like their biggest show of the year? That and Bound For Glory? Right? I can’t really tell sicne all the PPVs really run together..

  • chronoxiong

    That’s a good buyrate still isn’t it? I knew that the ESPN reporter was wrong with his prediction.

  • Jason

    Once again I was right on, a week ago some moron ESPN reporter said that WWE WrestleMania hit over 1.8 million buys and you all said he was right. I told you all that was bullshit

  • JohnCena33

    @JayWawk
    What site do you watch it for free?

    I never found one and I am pretty sure people who say they watch it on the internet is key for your dirt poor and cant afford to buy it.

  • JayHawk

    Sorry with Internet streaming and everything you can watch on the Internet for free these days you could have had rock vs cena vs sting vs taker vs Shawn vs hhh vs punk vs Jericho and if you can watch it for free instead of 60 dollars ppv price you will. The Internet kills buy rates.

  • sam

    @b c mitchell, you’re right on that one as i watch wrestlemania every year regardless who is appearing or what i’m going to see, it’s wrestlemania which was focused on during raw for at least a month so why wouldn’t i watch it

  • Zach D

    @ bc Mitchell

    U are actually right. Every year I go to a Wrestlemania party, even though I’m a hardcore fan and everyone there is more worried about getting drunk just because its Wrestlemania. They hardly pay attention to the matches

  • Gorilla

    Wrestlemania 26 didn’t do a million and it featured shown michaels last match but both after 27 and 28 have hit over a million and featured The Rock so no argument that he doesn’t add viewers

  • b c Mitchell

    Probably not me personally but there are a ton of casual fans who do get Wrestlemania just because its Wrestlemania. The hardcore fans want quality the casual fans enjoy the spectacle and having a ‘Mania party. The casual fans are why Wrestlemania is the highest bought ppv of the year every year. They don’t order it for the quality but just for the sake of having it. It’s like the number of people per year who don’t watch one NFL game all year but host a Super Bowl party. Yes I personally want to see great wrestling but the once a year casual fan just assumes what they see is the good stuff

  • Awesome

    @ Vamon That sounds like that would the greatest mania ever.

  • b c Mitchell

    Doubt it. After all having Rock there was supposed to guarantee huge numbers. Fact is they did about as much as they usually do
    Wrestlemania is like the Super Bowl. People are gonna watch no matter who’s in it.

  • Cakes

    I guess once all these guys collect a bigger wrestlemania bonus than their used too, all the rock bashing and complaining will cease to exist.
