- Most people within WWE feel that Chris Jericho is trying to keep his WWE return date a secret and that it will be “several months” before he returns. However, with WWE suffering from talent depth issues right now, some believe Jericho will be back sooner than later to work a limited schedule around his other projects.

    buried by Cena and Orton.

  • venom

WWE has the talent, but they keep getting buried my Orton and Cena.

  • Davey

The WWE wouldn’t have to think about bringing people like Jericho back if they put talent other than Cena and Orton over.

    @ Notinham
It isn’t always the higher ups keeping people down, take Ziggler for example. He was given a push towards the IC title way back at Hell in a Cell and was going to win but the money grubbing Rey Mysterio refused to put him over. Also It seems your in ring talent doesn’t matter nowadays or Morrison would have been pushed to the moon, but that push had to go to the boring poor mans Chris Jericho, The Miz…

  • Philly

I’m guessing those were house shows, no surprise on the attendance numbers.

  • Bill

WWE has tons of talent….. they just don’t push them or use them. I still want Y2J back!

  • Stevie

Umm, you guys looking at the cities? Of course it’s low attendance.

  • muh boy

yeah those numbers are low as hell no matter how you look at it.

  • Notingham

I love when they discuss the WWE having depth issues when it comes to talent. They have ALL THE FREAKING TALENT in the industry (that they want that is). There is only a depth issue if you have failed to make anyone care about who you have. Keeping guys like Morrison down has hurt that.

and cc… u missed the fact that if chris came back as a re invented y2j character… he would make vince shit loads of $$ and they can always get him involved with the rock on the odd occasion too plus he would be the best in ring and one of the best on mic wrestlers in the wwe… :D

  • CC

@!? not really that strange all things considered. Obviously quality of product has to take some of the blame, but with prices as they are and with todays financial climate, wrestling tickets are no longer viable purchases for a lot of people.

As for Jericho. Firstly the report is hedging its bets (some sources say he will be back after his projects are done and some sources say he will be back before they are done).
Secondly, Jericho is a very smart business man and since leaving WWE the first time, he has made himself someone who has negotiating power, which is unusual when it comes to a WWE contract. Most guys who negotiate end up with nothing as its usually Vinces way or else. Jericho though obviously plays up the fact that he would like to return but if he doesnt its no skin off his nose, and no way would Vince want people believing that someone like Jericho doesnt find WWE important.

Also a lot of the time they dont use the upper bowl areas of arenas. I went to a house show last summer and only the floor and lower bowl seats were available, and the upper sections were all closed off yet they announced it as sold out.

  • Mike Oxafloppin

I knew they wouldn’t sell out Highland Heights, simply because the area is NKU college students. Not a whole lot of kiddies there Vince.

  • khu

    RAW NEEDS JERICHO!!!

  • !?

Those attendance figures are strange, back in the late 90s, early 2000s they used to have constant sellouts. and now they are doing these types of numbers for live events? That’s crazy.

I still don’t think that Jericho will come back until HE is ready and from all the stuff he has on his plate, I doubt he won’t be back til at least the end of Summer or Fall.

Well Y2J was good, i recall he was heel?
he is likable though even being a heel.

Superstars that returning after a long time, will be loved no matter what they have done before, take Batista returning now, retired heel, will come back “super-face”

Come back Y2J, we need superstars from attitude era!
