Update on GFW wanting to sign Rey Mysterio

We noted before that both WWE and GFW were reportedly interested in signing the former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio and it appears that GFW currently has the advantage over WWE.

According to reports from PWinsider, Mysterio was in Nashville yesterday and he had a meeting with GFW Officials for contract negotiations.

The site also notes that the former WWE Star “has a contract offer in his hands” following the meeting, which gives GFW the upper hand since there is no news of WWE offering a deal to Mysterio yet.

Though it’s worth noting that Rey has a 90-day non-compete clause with Lucha Underground after their third season concludes, so the masked superstar has plenty of time to think about the offer.

In the meantime, it’s possible that WWE may also offer him a deal and it would make more sense for him to return to the company not only for another run but a possible Hall Of Fame induction down the line as well.
