Update on Naomi’s injury and why she vacated SmackDown Women’s Title

According to a report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Naomi was injured during her Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV) win over Alexa Bliss for the SmackDown Women’s Title. Bliss won the now-vacant title on this past Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown to regain the belt and become a two-time champ.

Naomi suffered an injury to her left knee while performing the finishing split-legged moonsault against Bliss at Elimination Chamber. It was initally believed that Naomi could return to action this week, however, it turns out the injury is worst than expected. It is described as a similar injury to which Seth Rollins suffered on RAW a few weeks ago.

It remains unclear if she’ll be back in time for Wrestlemania, however, Dave Meltzer reports she could be sidelined for up  to 2 months.
