Alberto Del Rio did his first interview with Mexican media since he returned to WWE. He spoke with Reforma and during that interview, Del Rio said that WWE was originally allowing him to work the AAA Guerra de Titanes show on December 4th. However, that all changed when AAA canceled the show which made WWE pull their offer. Del Rio blamed AAA for being disorganized when he could not return to the promotion to drop the AAA Mega Heavyweight Title in the ring.
Dave Meltzer mentioned in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE told him that before the show was canceled that Del Rio wasn’t working any dates and that “his lawyer” had made it clear Del Rio had no obligations to work anywhere else other than WWE. Del Rio was not advertised for that show in the first place either.
WWE allowed Del Rio to work the December 5th event in Puerto Rico, but it was considered as a favor to Carlos Colon who they have a business agreement with since Colon is their local promoter when they go to Puerto Rico.
