We noted before how WWE unexpectedly released the former NXT Star Big Cass after his loss to Daniel Bryan at the Money In The Bank PPV Sunday night.
A notable thing about his release was that the statement the company sent out was even shorter than usual and it didn’t include the customary lines wishing Cass best of luck for his future endeavors.
While the reason for such harsh and sudden release is not known so far, Wrestling Observer has now provided some update on his departure.
According to it, Mr. McMahon called a backstage meeting on SmackDown this week involving Cass and some other Officials and the decision to let him go was made there.
WrestleVotes twitter account also provided an update on the situation through a tweet, claiming that the Big man ‘pissed someone off, bad’ and confirmed that the decision was made not very long ago:
Asked what happened with Cass. Source is tied up at the moment, however said “Big man pissed someone off, bad”
I also know this happened within the last few hours, not necessarily the “pissing off” but the decision. Not at the PPV as Cass worked the house show last night.

We’ll be covering this story thoroughly and have more details on the site as they become available. Though the question, for now, is who could be the person Cass upset which led to his firing?
