Update on Roman Reigns’ next challenger

Roman Reigns finally won the Universal Championship at SummerSlam after an 18 months long buildup and the big question now is what the company is planning for him next.

According to Sports Illustrated, WWE Officials are “looking to build a lengthy title reign” for the new Universal Champion, meaning that he will hold on to the title for some time.

The site also reports that Drew McIntyre is expected to be the next challenger for Reigns once his current programme with the Monster Among Men ends.

This would mean that Roman will defeat Braun Strowman at their upcoming match at the Hell In A Cell PPV and Strowman will fail in his cash in.

It’s worth mentioning that this would be Drew’s first major main roster rivalry since his return, and how Officials handle it will tell us a lot about his future spot in the roster.
