As noted, WWE could be facing some problems this week when they hold the RAW TV taping in Tampa and SmackDown TV taping in Miami. The reason is because of Tropical Storm Erika being projected to be a hurricane hitting the state of Florida.
It should be noted that it’s expected to hit the other side of the state, and it is also expected to be out of South Florida by Tuesday, but there’s always the chance the shows could be affected.
Update: The Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida issued the following statement in regards of the matter:
“Amalie Arena and our partners at WWE are aware of Tropical Storm Erika’s potential impact to our area in advance of WWE Raw on Monday, August 31. At this time, the event is not cancelled. However, we are keeping the storm top of mind. We will release any pertinent information as needed.”
Update 2x: The National Hurricane Center declared Tropical Storm Erika dissipated near the coast of eastern Cuba on Saturday. Thunderstorms are still expected and there is some concern for flooding but WWE should be okay with their TV tapings.
Update 3x: The arena tweeted out the following:
After the dissipation of #TSErika over the weekend, @WWE Raw will move forward as planned. We'll see you at 7:30pm tomorrow! #WWERawTB
