Update on Vader’s health

Big Van Vader was a huge star back in the 80s and 90s. The Mastodon’s career was full of top title runs and impressive feuds against the top men of the 90s. He held both the WCW Heavyweight Championship and the IWGP Heavyweight Championship three separate times, and while he didn’t win a title in the WWF, he still made a big name for himself there.

Back in 2016, it was announced that Vader was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and two separate doctors stated that he had only two years to live. Even after his diagnosis, he continued to wrestle in Japan and the UK.

On March 12, Vader went under for heart surgery. His son Jesse went on his father’s Twitter page today to talk to his fans, telling the world that the surgery was successful. However, his heart was in a worse condition than they had expected.
