Home » WWE News » Update on WWE Bringing Back Former Stars for The Rumble

- We’ve noted how WWE officials are interested in bringing back some familiar midcard names to the roster. Part of the reason for this is to help with live event attendance, mainly on the SmackDown side.

– It was recently reported that Tommy Dreamer’s name was brought up in a WWE creative meeting about surprise Royal Rumble entrants. MVP and Shelton Benjamin were also discussed for the Rumble. Their names have came up a lot within the company lately. They are part of the list of talents WWE would like to bring back to help with the roster depth and attendance. The problem with MVP returning is that he’s under contract to New Japan.

Another name rumored within WWE recently was Low Ki, formerly known as Kaval on NXT. Kaval is considered a long shot and his return is probably just a rumor.

One team we can expect to see in the 30-man Rumble match is The New Age Outlaws – “Road Dogg” BG James and Billy Gunn.

Nope. Sting has said himself, that any time he has negotiated with WWE, the stumbling block has always been WWE and their reluctance to agree a part time contract. WWE and especially Vince does not see the value in Sting as he has never wrestled for WWE, and is not exactly young.

I’d be shocked to see Dreamer back as he was just on TNA television but then again he was on Raw not that long ago so who knows. Would be nice to see Dreamer in the ring again.

Why the hell would Low Ki want to come back after how they treated him? He’s one of the few WWE talents to actually ask for his release, not the other way around. He left because he was obviously disgusted with how they were “using” him.

I agree but I bet they would give Sting a part time deal if that was the only way to sign him.

Only problem with this is Matt is another guy like Sting and RVD who only want to do part time schedules, and unless your name is The Rock, Brock Lesnar or Steve Austin, WWE aint gonna be handing out no part time contracts.

The only thing with the Hardy name being big is that its big with Jeff.. I understand what you’re saying though. But people pay more for Jeff these days rather than Matt.

I’d love to see Bobby Roode and James Storm come over from TNA. They would be instant higher mid card talent in my books. I would also love to see Christopher Daniels and Kazarian to add to the tag teams too. However this is most likely never going to happen.

Personally i think they should bring back Matt Hardy, he can work well in the Mid-Card and the Hardy name is big as well so that could help live events, John Morrison has to be considered as well and once Christian and Mark Henry are back then they can help as well
