– Due to an injury suffered shortly after winning the title, WWE SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Naomi was forced to relinquish the title due to the inability to defend the title for 30 days. A match made by SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan was made between Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss for the vacant title. Bliss went on to win the title and become a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champ:

– According to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, original plans for WWE RAW Women’s Champion Bayley were to win the strap at Wrestlemania 33 and defend it at the Payback pay-per-view (PPV) in her hometown of San Jose, California. The plan is still currently for the title to be defended at Wrestlemania in a Fatal Four Way between Bayley, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Nia Jax.
