Harper asked for his WWE release recently, but he was denied the release. Now he has to stay with the company for a longer time as they added on months to this contract due to time missed because of a surgery he needed last year.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Vince McMahon doesn’t “get” Harper and this definitely doesn’t help Harper’s case at all.
It is said that one person “close to the situation” said that Harper has to leave the company and that is what he was trying to do until Vince McMahon prevented him from doing so.
Vince also complained about Harper due to his inability to ”do a Southern accent.” Harper reportedly kept on regularly pitching angles for himself even when he was out with an injury, but to no avail as his ideas were rejected.
