Last week on WWE SmackDown, Shinsuke Nakamura battled John Cena to determine who will face Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam on August 20th. Shinsuke Nakamura won the match via the Kinshasa, but during the match there was a scary spot where Nakamura Suplexed Cena and Cena landed on the back of his head.
According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated reports today that Vince McMahon was furious over the spot. McMahon’s anger was more directed in defense of John Cena rather than an indictment on Shinsuke Nakamura. McMahon has not lost faith in Nakamura, but if another spot like that happens again, McMahon will have an entirely different opinion of Nakamura according to Barrasso.
Nakamura was seen after the match apologizing to Cena for the botched Suplex. Cena simply responded with “don’t be sorry”.
