- This weekend marks the five-year anniversary of the Chris Benoit double murder-suicide that occurred over a three-day period ending on June 24, 2007. He murdered his wife and son before hanging himself. Two former WCW stars went on Twitter to remember their late friend.

Perry Saturn: “Another one of those horrible anniversaries. Chris was a great friend and I miss him.”

Scotty Riggs: “Many wrestling fans remember this weekends 5 yr anniversary in their own way, I chose to miss my friends Chris, Nancy & Daniel … All RIP.”

Blue Meanie, who worked with Benoit in ECW and WWE, stated, “Today I reflect on a the 5yr ann. of the most shocking days of my life w/the Chris Benoit double murder/suicide.”

– Ten years ago today, Bret Hart suffered a stroke after hitting his head in a bicycle accident. He briefly suffered paralysis on his left side, which required months of physical therapy. Hart has since recovered much of his mobility and is in good health, although he suffers from an emotional imbalance.

Hart addressed the anniversary on Twitter, writing, “10 years ago today at this very hour, death came calling and returned home empty handed. Thank you God for letting me continue my journey.”

– Today marks the anniversary of three more wrestling deaths: Shane Bauer, who was Chris Benoit’s early tag team partner Biff Wellington, was found dead five years ago today. Toni Adams passed away two years ago today at the age of 45, while midget wrestling star Cowboy Bradley passed away that same day at 75.

If Vince would allow Chris into the HOF he would be condoning the use of drugs and his Wellness program would mean nothing now. Guys like Owen need to be in the HOF but family denying it is understandable. Randy Savage needs to be in the HOF, that Vince has gotta suck it up and let him in.

  • YES! 3X

@Vic. Butler might be alittle too tall to portary the 5’9 or 5’10 Benoit. But he definatly has the look.

  • Vic

I heard a rumor that Gerard Butler (300) will portray Chris Benoit in the movie Crossface.

  • F BOMB

Chris was a hall of famer but his actions cant go overlooked. He was a great wrestler but Vince will NEVER allow in the HOF

    @john
Bret was the best of all time and stop trolling its not cute or funny its just pathetic.

  • KC

I feel he lost all credit and all that he did when he took the life of his child and his wife then he took the cowards way out and took his own life I can only pray in there last breath he begged God to forgive him cause we all must forgive his actions but it be hard to forget seeing that little boys smile

  • The_electrifying_one

Benoits actions were horrific and terrible. However he suffered so many concussions that when this tradgedy happened he was not the Benoit we all loved.

I choose to remember the Benoit who entertained the fans. A true wrestling Legend R.I.P Benoit and his family

  • Randy

How about correcting your typo regarding his “bicycle” accident when really it was a motorcycle. Big difference.

  • mark

i know wot he did was really bad , but i use to enjoy him wrestling. Im glad Bret has come through his stroke ok

  • 1919dpg

Benoit went insane doing what he loved, entertaining us. he wasn’t a bad man. thankfully the damage concussions can cause has come to light and it won’t happen again.

  • John

I guess Im gonna have to change my user name now because some a**hole troll never matured past the second grade. Go get laid buddy.

  • John

Don’t confuse that @John with this one. This is the one who thinks Bret Hart is boring and overrated.

  • “Bad Man” Bigelow

I just still can’t believe it. I thought losing Owen the way we did was the worst that it could get. I was speechless after the details about Benoit came out, and I guess I still am. I remember just thinking that something else had to have happened, that it couldn’t be true…

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been five years. I hope that everybody that has suffered from this (especially families and friends involved) have been strong enough to move on and forward. As a person, I’ll probably never be able to forgive him for what he did regardless of whatever caused it. As a wrestling fan, I will never forget all the great matches he gave us.

  • Bill

It’s a shame what happened with Benoit, but it’s also a shame that WWE doesn’t want to remember all of the good times we had with him.

  • MrDr3w

    RIP Cowboy Bradley…

  • Chris E.

I watched Chris from his start in Stampede through to WWE. So sad that his story ended the way it did. Note that I couldn’t believe Shane Bauer died as well at the same time. He, Chris and Johnny Smith/ John Hindley had become really amazing wrestlers.

  • SYM

Even when ant says Good things people Dislike him. But Honestly Beniot was a Great Wrestler and He had one of the worst sendoffs in this lifetime. God Bless his Family, and those effected by this tragedy.

  • Ben for HOF

Chris Benoit should be in the Hall of Fame.

Vince is a racist because he won’t let a canadian in.

    R.I.P. Chris Benoit
