Wrestlemania is closing in and WWE is certainly getting things started in preparation for the Grandest Stage of Them All on Smackdown Live.
Initially, a United States Title match was supposed to take place on Smackdown Live, but plans changed. Instead, a tag team match was booked which saw Rey Mysterio roll Samoa Joe up for the win.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Mysterio pinning Joe might mean that Rey could be challenging Joe for the US Title at Wrestlemania. However, it might not happen if we consider how quickly Vince McMahon changes plans.
Rey and Andrade were rumored to compete at Wrestlemania and that might still happen. They could also be in a multi-man match for the US title with Joe and R-Truth in the mix.
We have to wait and see what WWE finally decides on for Wrestlemania.
