Neville might have appeared to give up any future shots at Enzo Amore’s Cruiserweight Championship when he struck the Realest Guy In The Room on Raw. After all, Enzo had an iron-clad no-contact clause so if anyone touched him then they would never get another shot at his title.
Dave Meltzer opened up about this on Wrestling Observer Radio where he said that in the end, the roads are leading back to Neville challenging Enzo for the title. It just might take a little bit of time to get there.
“Well, it leads to Enzo against Neville.” Meltzer continued, “This is probably a way to delay it a couple of months and maybe [Enzo] will work with Rich Swann first because that was one of the guys he insulted. Or maybe someone else, maybe Cedric [Alexander] — he did insult Cedric as well. And it’s a way to keep Neville from getting a shot for a while so when he gets it, it’s a bigger deal.”
But in the end, it could boil down to WWE’s scrapping the idea and moving onto Neville and Enzo sooner than later
“I think maybe [Neville] gets a shot next week and they just forget it.”
