Why Sting Hasn’t Signed For WWE Yet, Wants WrestleMania XXX Match With The Undertaker

– Regarding Sting not signing a deal with WWE yet, it’s more because WWE is dragging their feet. We noted before that WWE officials are in no hurry to get Sting signed for a WrestleMania XXX match but word is that Sting himself was hoping for a match against The Undertaker at this year’s event.

Since Sting lives in the Dallas area, he is willing to meet up with The Undertaker and work out the match in private at Undertaker’s gym, over and over, to get it right, which is what Undertaker’s opponents have done for the past several years. That’s one of the reasons the matches have gone over so well. There was some concern that Brock Lesnar, who is in it because he makes big money for a limited amount of work and only has a certain number of dates on his contract, may not be willing to spend several extra days working with Taker to get the entire match worked out.

undertaker needs to retire after Wrestlemania 30

exactly ,and anyone who thinks he is…is a damn fool

  • Truth B Told

That’s true! And I’ve also stated as much before as well. Undertaker is really one of those guys who just doesn’t know when to hang it up because if one match a year is all that he’s capable of, then he’s definitely long past his “hang it up” time. But if he really has to have another match, then he can also skip a WM as he has done a couple times in the past, and maybe even use that time to do a proper feud with Sting over the year, leading up to WM 31 because it just doesn’t make sense to have such a big name pretty much come out of nowhere, just in time for WM 30, and lose. I’d rather see that big name show up at WM 30 in a non-competing manner…maybe run-in during a match, make that “impact” and what not, and establish some kind of a real presence in the storylines/roster before ultimately losing to Undertake at WM 31. That way, it’d at least feel a little more legitimate than “Hi, I’m Sting, let’s fight tomorrow.”

  • Sting vs. Taker, or Lesnar vs. Taker? Hmm…..I WONDER which match fans would rather see? Though, IMO, Taker/Sting should have happened several years ago.

I agree. Also as much as Sting is a legend of the NWA and WCW days those were decade and a half ago. The ‘casual’ crowd that WWE caters to (and makes money off) do not know Sting and why he is great. A short and rushed build up would hurt Stings reputation with the majority of the crowd. This is doubly true with Sting’s current limited in-ring ability. And a loss to undertaker is still a loss. And a loss for a guy who has not been built up properly can be devastating if there are no matches to follow up.

Personally, I’m just not seeing it as being a good idea for Sting to sign now and basically be “rushed” to WM30 for a match with Undertaker. I mean, I’ve already stated that I’d rather not see him get back in the ring at all but if it’s just in the cards for him to do so with the WWE and have him in a WM match with Undertaker, then they should properly build up to it…and there’s just not enough time to create a proper build between two icons such as them. I’m not saying that they should go the route that Cena and Rock did the first time around with that year-long wait and what not…but there should definitely be a real sense of build-up and that can only mean Sting coming in and really establishing himself properly before ultimately losing to Undertaker at WM 31, since we all know that’s what’s going to happen.
In short, it would be really freakin’ silly for somebody like Sting to come in now, with so little time for overall story development, and then be fed to Undertaker.

The wwe creative team really are morons….

  • JAckh45

Sting v Taker is better than Brock v Taker.

  • TheFizPop

lol all those years wwe wants sting, he doesn’t budge, then he wants to and wwe now playing it cool. Seriously just fck already!

  • The Truth

First sting would have to get in shape, but since this would be a great match and all of wwe fans want to see it means that wwe will not do it.. they always go againts what the fans like … so it won’t happen

  • Jeff Wurtz

Sting is not signing with WWE!!!! Ever! Never, ever, ever, never.

  • DKHardee

this is the match that everyone would like to see and honestly I would buy the ‘Mania PPV (assuming I don’t get the Network) just for a Sting/Taker match.
