Why WWE Chose Miz for Video Game Cover, Malenko Update, SD vs. RAW Sales

– The heart procedure that WWE agent Dean Malenko recently had was to have a stent put in.

– First week sales numbers in the United States have WWE’s SmackDown vs. RAW 2011 video game selling 224,532 units in that first week, which was the last week in October. It’s estimated that the game sold double that number worldwide. SmackDown vs. RAW 2011 was ranked #10 overall for the month of October on the Xbox 360 sales chart.

– There was speculation that WWE putting The Miz on the cover of SmackDown vs. RAW 2011 was a sign that they knew ahead of time that he would be winning the WWE Title. That’s not true as Miz was put on the cover because officials believed he would have no problem taking on the crazy promotional schedule that came along with promoting the game, a schedule that a lot of other stars would have had issues with.

The decision was made to put Miz on the cover months back based on wanting a new star to be featured and the belief he would work hard at promoting the game.
