Women’s Rumble and More announced for Royal Rumble PPV

Womens Royal Rumble

During the latest episode of Raw, WWE announced a couple of matches for the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV next month including a huge first time ever bout.

As we noted before, the way the match between Kane and Braun Strowman ended last week was a way to set up a Triple Threat match for the Universal Championship.

The company confirmed this report during the latest episode of Raw when Kurt Angle announced that both these monsters will challenge the Beast Incarnate.

Later in the show, Stephanie McMahon made her return to WWE Programming and announced that the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble will be taking place at the next WWE PPV.

No word yet on if the rules for the Women’s Exclusive Rumble will be similar to the Men’s version of the match but we’ll keep you posted.

So Paige, Ruby Riott, Victoria, AND Kaitlin all in the same match? May as well throw Melina in there as well, with Charlotte on commentary, and Maria sitting at ringside. That’s a women’s revolution for sure! *wink wink*

Trish Stratus please I will cry irl I would be so happy.

Ivory would be amazing, maybe in a precursor to get her into the HoF. I’m more thinking Victoria, Kaitlyn, or McCool.

I think a 30-woman match would be a bit much – too many women would have to show up from off the main roster. I’m also thinking that the two champs wouldn’t be involved (much to their chagrin). 20 should be just fine – for now.

My guesses for comebacks would be Ivory, and maybe Michelle McCool. They could easily scrape up 30 women if they chose to go in that direction. The way I see it is it’s ten women from RAW, ten from SmackDown, the aforementioned comebacks (and maybe more), a few NXT call-ups, and most likely Ronda Rousey. Time wouldn’t be an issue, as the big four shows are four hours instead of just three. So I don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to go all-out with it.

I’ve been pulling for this, and I’m legit geeked it’s going to happen. NOW – it sure as hell better have traditional Rumble rules and set-up, i.e. 20 (’cause there’s no way they could pull of 30) competitors, 2 to start, new competitor ever 90 seconds or so, and over-the-top elimination.

Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nikki Bella makes her return, and *maybe* a currently-retired blast-from-the-past, ’cause that kind of thing is traditional.
