WrestleMania XXVIII Sets Viewership Record, WWE Stock Continues To Dwindle

— WWE announced Thursday via e-mail that WrestleMania XXVIII set a viewership record with 1.3 million pay-per-view buys worldwide and five million viewers overall.

Their statement reads: “WrestleMania set a record of 1.3 million pay-per-view buys worldwide and was seen by more than five million fans in 105 countries. The “Once in a Lifetime” extravaganza was also seen by a sellout crowd of 78,363 fans from all 50 U.S. states and 36 countries at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, marking the highest attended event in the stadium’s history.”

— WWE’s stock price continued to dwindle Thursday as a new 52-week low was set at $7.77 per share before closing at $7.83. The stock closed at $7.96 per share Wednesday after setting a 52-week low of $7.95 per share.

— Eve announced on her official website that herself, CM Punk, The Miz will be signing autographs Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Virgin Megastore Champs-Élysées in Paris, France.

They get 5million viewers for RAW each week, I wonder what the total viewership would be if wrestlemania was televised for free. Now stocks should go back up after all this recent record breaking confirmation, but maybe W-E won’t post that positive fact cause you know it’s not appealing enough to 80% of that negative audience out there that are called “wrestling fans”

how exactly do they know 5 million people watched it?

  • Gorilla

They been talking about change and shaking things up since 2002 and they do capture a bigger audience for example summer of punk but then always end up steady pacing again i mean wtf did punk run out of pipe bombs

since WWE stock is dropping maybe they will decide that a change in the product is needed.
