Wrestler Who Played Doink The Clown Dies, Found by his Girlfriend

— Matt “Doink the Clown” Osborne has reportedly passed away at the age of 55 and according to a report from TMZ, was found dead by his girlfriend in their Texas home. WWE issued the following statement…

“Osborne made a major impact in WWE under the greasepaint of a prankster named Doink – one of the most enduring personas of the early ’90s. WWE is saddened by the news of Osborne’s passing. Our deepest condolences go out to Osborne’s family, friends, and fans.”

Prior to his WWF debut in the early 90’s as an evil clown, Osborne wrestled for Mid-South Wrestling, World Class Championship Wrestling, and WCW. He eventually drifted out of the wrestling business finishing up with a move to EDCW. He has appeared at conventions and other wrestling nostalgia shows in recent years.

Our thoughts and condolences are with the Osborne family.
