WWE to Air Chris Benoit Footage on the WWE Network with Advisory Note

– reports that WWE has sent out a memo stating that Chris Benoit footage will be allowed on its new Network broadcasts. There will be an advisory played before every show he appears on.

WWE is expected to announce the Network in Las Vegas next week.

Why is it necessary to have an “advisory note” in showing Benoit footage? Unless they plan on showing pictures of what he did I don’t see how it is relevant to anything he did in the ring. Everyone knows what happened, everyone has their take on it. Just air the footage and be done with it. Geez.

I’d like to see what exactly they’re going to state in the advisory. But this is a huge step in the healing process; as some of you stated, he is a part of WWE’s history. What he did in his final hours tainted his entire image, but I’m glad we can at least begin to accept and appreciate what he did for the company he loved.

  • Very happy they will be showing him. Ok he did a very bad bad thing. But he is part of Wrestling history.

Ah, seen it, didn’t hear it.

  • Andrew Falkenhan

He’s mentioned in one if the Best of Nitro DVDs.

Ps. I dont condone his actions but an advisory…

  • nick-hulk

This is right, large part of pro wrestling history, because of his wrestling! But whats the advisory gonna say “Warning: This footage contains Chris Benoit, the ill/damaged indiviual you killed himself and family” and not menntion why he was nuts; steroids to deal with pressure industry and concussions from his job

  • Shawn OB

Holy f’n Benoit! Yeah, actually he’s been on some WWE DVDs in matches. Not mentioned, but still..

    This is shocking.
