While Paige handled James Ellsworth’s departure backstage, Samoa Joe came out and beat up the WWE Champion AJ Styles. Styles was put into the Coquina Clutch by Joe and left out beaten in the ring.
Joe then went on to sign the Championship contract for Summerslam and made his way to the back. While heading back, Joe screamed “Tick Tock Champ, Tick Tock” at Styles and sending the message straight.
Therefore, it will be Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles at Summerslam for the WWE Championship. The rumours for this match were all over the place before it was even announced and now these rumours have been confirmed.
