WWE Crown Jewel still on despite recent controversy

Crown Jewel is the next WWE event taking place in Saudi Arabia, returning there on November 2nd. However, with recent events, it’s been assumed that the company might decide to pull out of their deal with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

Following the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, multiple business leaders have canceled events set to take place in Saudi Arabia. Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi and Virgin Group founder Richard Branson have backed out of projects with Saudi Arabia, demanding for info on Khashoggi’s whereabouts.

US Senators have since addressed the WWE’s upcoming event, suggesting that they hold off on their deal with Saudi Arabia until more information is revealed.

While the WWE did release a statement on the situation, hinting that they might heed the words of their fans, talent, and others involved in this crisis, it seems they’ll still continue forward with WWE Crown Jewel.

PWInsider revealed that there are no plans to put Crown Jewel or any other upcoming Saudi Arabian events on the back burner, as the WWE looks to move forward as planned.
