Renee Young, Corey Graves, Jerry Lawler and Booker T welcome us in for the Extreme Rules Kickoff Show. Tom Phillips is in the social media lounge and tells us to his #extremerules on Twitter. Rusev will talk to Phillips later in the show. Video packages to hype Chris Jericho vs. Dean Ambrose and Charlotte vs. Natalya were shown. Paige and Becky Lynch join the panel and talk about Charlotte’s chance against Natalya without Ric Flair. Lynch and Paige predict that Natalya will beat Charlotte.
The Dudley Boyz walk down to the ring and brings up ECW. They told the fans to shut up after they chanted ECW. Dudley Boyz told the fans that when they left ECW, the promotion went straight into the toilet. Bubba said that the new era superstars’ careers will also go straight into the toilet. This led to Big Cass walking out. Cass told Bubba won’t get the tables because he ate it and then mocked Bubba for eating everything. Cass told them that the new era guys wrestle better than the old school guys and do it in front of millions of people. The Dudley Boyz then attacking Big Cas. Cas fought back and took them out. Then he called them SAWFT!
The Miz cuts a promo backstage about defending his IC Title against Cesaro, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn. Miz vowed to retain the title.
No DQ Match: Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler.
Ziggler jumped him and hit a splash in the corner. Corbin sent him over the top rope and to the floor. Corbin sent him into the ring post and back into the ring. Corbin tied him up in the ropes and landed a series of strikes. Ziggler fought out of a submission and hit a series of clotheslines. Corbin rolled to the floor. Back in the ring, Ziggler rolled him up for 2. Corbin hit a powerslam for 2. Corbin went for a powerbomb, but Ziggler got out of it and hit a DDT. Corbin hit a low blow and the End of Days for the win.
Winner: Corbin.
Welcome to the Extreme Rules PPV event. We kick things off with….
Texas Tornado Match: The Usos vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson
The match starts with all four men brawling. The Usos get the upperhand and hit a double clothesline to both men sending them to the floor. Anderson sent Jey over the barricade to the floor. Anderson attacked Jimmy from behind. Jey took out the club with an outside dive. The Usos hit a double super kick to Gallows then went for a splash but Anderson pushed Jey off and Gallows ducked a dive. Gallows hit his finisher on Jimmy and Anderson hit a spinebuster to Jey for 2. Jey took out Anderson with a super kick and a back splash. Gallows took him out with a clothesline. Gallows grabbed the ring bell and Jimmy caught him with a super kick. Jimmy missed a splash off the top rope. Gallows and Anderson hit their finisher for the win.
Winners: Gallows and Anderson.
United States Title Match: Kalisto © vs. Rusev.
Rusev beats him down early in the match and targets the lower back of Kalisto. Moments later, Kalisto fought back and hit a facebuster. Kalisto went for his finisher, but Rusev countered and rolled to the floor. Kalisto hit a moonsault off the top rope. Rusev slammed him on the apron. Rusev locked in the Accolade and won the match.
Winner: Rusev.
New Day cut a promo in the ring with The Vaudevillains.
Tag Team Title Match: New Day © vs. The Vaudevillians.
Woods and English start things off. English sent him head first into the ring post. Gotch was tagged in and hit a clothesline. Woods tried to fight back and connected with a kick to the head of Gotch. Big E and English got the hot tags. Big E hit a splash then ran into an elbow. English with a series of elbows then hit a knee strike. English hit a face plant for 2. Woods was tagged in but English sent him into the steel steps. They hit their finisher on Woods but only got a two count. Woods kicked Gotch in the face and Big E speared English off the apron. Woods hit a running knee to Gotch for the win.
Winners; New Day.
AJ Styles cut a promo backstage and vowed to become the WWE Champion.
Fatal 4-Way Intercontinental Title Match: The Miz © vs. Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro vs. Sami Zayn.
Zayn hit Steen with a big boot to begin the match. The other three stars start to brawl. Zayn knocked Cesaro and Miz to the floor and then hit an outside dive. Owens hit Zayn with a clothesline and started to talk trash. Owens landed a series of chops to Zayn and then knocked Cesaro off the apron. Owens with a back splash to Zayn for 2. Cesaro hit a triple suplex to the three stars. Miz tossed Cesaro to the floor. He went for a suplex to Zayn but Cesaro got back into the ring and hit a suplex on both stars. Owens got in the ring but Zayn hit a suplex to him. Cesaro with an uppercut to Zayn. Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale to Cesaro for a near fall. Cesaro hit Miz with an uppercut after being slapped. Cesaro hit the giant swing to Miz. Cesaro locked in the sharpshooter but Miz grabbed Maryse and she was dragged in the ring. Miz tapped but the referee never saw it because of Maryse. Owens rolled up Cesaro for 2. Cesaro sent Owens to the floor. Cesaro went for the giant swing but Miz grabbed the rope. Owens hit a splash to Miz. Cesaro hit the Neutralizer to Owens but Zayn broke it up. Zayn rolled up Cesaro for 2. Owens hit a superkick to Zayn and a powerbomb to Cesaro. Miz pulled Owens out of the ring, hit his finisher then covered Cesaro for 2. Zayn hit a big boot to Miz for 2. Owens pulled him out of the ring and Zayn beat down Owens. Miz covered Cesaro for the win.
Winner: Miz.
Asylum Match: Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho.
They brawl to begin the match. Jericho landed an elbow and then climbed the cage. Ambrose stopped him and hit a clothesline. Ambrose sent him back first into the cage. Ambrose grabbed a mop and hit Jericho in the head with it then checked him with it. They brawl then climb the cage. Ambrose got some nunchucks while Jericho got the barbed wire 2×4. Ambrose ducked and hit him with the nunchucks. Jericho climbed the cage and almost got out. They battle on top of the cage and Jericho hit him with a kendo stick. Jericho started to whip him with a leather strap. Jericho went to the top rope and Ambrose dragged him off. Ambrose hit him in the back with the strap. Ambrose sent him nuts first on the top rope. Ambrose grabbed the fire extinguisher. Jericho went for the straight jacket and got it. Jericho fought back and hit a drop kick. Jericho got him in the straight jacket but Ambrose fought back and got out of it. Ambrose landed a series of right hands. Ambrose with a huge clothesline for 2. Ambrose hit an elbow off the top of the cage onto Jericho. Ambrose grabbed a bucket and pulled out a black bag that had thumbtacks in it. He spread them on the mat. Jericho tried to climb out but Ambrose stopped him. Jericho rolled him up for 2. Ambrose went for a powerslam and it was blocked. Jericho went for a powerbomb but it was blocked. Jericho sent him into the cage and hit the lionsault but Ambrose put up his knees. Jericho locked in the Walls of Jericho. Ambrose fought back and grabbed the kendo stick. Jericho spread the fire extinguisher in his face and hit the Codebreaker for 2. Jericho went for it again but Ambrose blocked it and sent Jericho into the thumbtacks. Ambrose hit the Dirty Deeds to Jericho onto the thumbtacks for the win.
Winner: Ambrose.
Submission Women’s Title Match: Charlotte © vs. Natalya (Ric Flair banned from ringside or Charlotte will forfeit her title)
They exchange strikes to begin the match. Natalya with a clothesline. Charlotte caught her with a chop. Natalya sent her into the ring post then back in the ring where she landed a series of strikes. Charlotte landed a series of kicks. Charlotte fought back and hit a powerbomb. Charlotte locked in a single leg boston crab but Natalya got to the bottom rope. Natalya fought back and locked in the sharpshooter for 2. This led to Ric Flair’s music playing. Dana Brooke walked out and was dressed like Ric Flair. She walked down to the ring. Natalya was distracted by this and Charlotte locked in the Figure Eight Submission for the win.
Winner: Charlotte. Post-match, Flair walked down to the ring and celebrated with Brooke and Charlotte.
Extreme Rules WWE Title Match: Roman Reigns © vs. AJ Styles.
They lock up and Reigns connected with an elbow. Styles landed a series of kicks and Reigns shoved him down. Reigns with a series of clotheslines. Reigns landed a knee strike. Styles grabbed a chair but Reigns punched him. Reigns grabbed the chair and swung and missed. Styles with a series of right hands. Styles clotheslines him over the end barricade. They brawl into the crowd. Styles sent him head first into pre-show set. They brawl back to ringside. Styles sent him head first into the barricade and then exposed the concrete floor. Reigns sent him into the steel steps then cleared the announce table. Reigns went for a powerbomb but Styles unloaded on him with strikes. Styles went for the Styles Clash but Reigns fought out of it and landed a big right hand. Reigns hit a huge back body drop to styles through the announce table. Back in the ring, Reigns covered him for 2. Reigns then hit a powerbomb for 2. Reigns went for the Superman Punch but Styles took out the left knee. Styles hit a suplex in the corner. Reigns rolled to the floor, Styles followed and hit a knee strike to the face of Reigns. Reigns caught him and powerbombed him onto the announce table. Styles bounced off of it and then the table broke. Reigns went for a spear but Styles moved and Reigns went through the barricade. Back in the ring, Styles went to the top rope but Reigns hit the Superman Punch. Reigns hit a spear to Styles on the floor. Anderson and Gallows ran down and attacked Reigns. They hit their finisher to Reigns. Styles covered him but only got 2. The Usos ran down to the ring and took out Anderson and Gallows. They hit a superkick to Styles. Jey hit a splash to Styles. Reigns covered Styles but only got 2. Anderson and gallows took out The Usos. Reigns took out Anderson and Gallows. This led to Styles kicking him in the face and hitting the Styles Clash for 2. Styles went for the Styles Clash to Reigns on the chair but Reigns blocked and hit a back body drop onto the chair. Styles kicked him in the head, hit the Styles Clash on the chair for 2. Styles hits him over and over with the chair. He then hit The Usos with it. Styles went for the springboard Forearm and Reigns speared him for the win.
Winner: Reigns.
Post-match, Seth Rollins runs down to the ring. He hit Reigns with the Pedigree and the fans went nuts! Rollins stood tall in the ring and held the WWE Title to close the show.
