WWE files trademark for classic WCW event

The WWE has officially filed a trademark for WCW’s former top event, Starrcade.

According to PWInsider, the company made the move on July 17, stating that it was a decision the company made long ago when the Starrcade house show was held in Greensboro, North Carolina last November.

After the success of the Starrcade event and NXT’s WarGames match, the WWE is planning on bringing in more events and matches from WCW’s past. It’s been rumored that Bash at the Beach, Fall Brawl, and Halloween Havoc have been tossed around as possible ideas for PPVs in the future, but nothing has been confirmed thus far.

Hogan vs Sting at Starcade. THE REMATCH

  • Batman Barry

Wwe will just make a mockery of it like they do with everything wcw

  • Nicholas Giambattista

I wonder when Smackdown makes the switch to Fox if they do the Smackdown have there own PPV. Because I believe the plan is to change some of PPV names.

  • Darrin Tyler

I rly hope Halloween Havoc is one they pick…it was my favorite ppv that WCW had. And the Nasty Boys piledriving other wrestlers through a jack o lantern every year.
