WWE Does Good Deed for Fan, Otunga Talks About Bullying in Storylines

– CTNewsJunkie is featuring an article on David Otunga and Stephanie McMahon attending a “be a STAR” anti-bullying rally in Hartford, CT yesterday. Otunga addressed bullying being used in WWE storylines.

“I hate to say it but I was part of this group called the Nexus and we did bullying for the better part of a year,” Otunga admitted. “We pretty much bullied the entire roster… In WWE we see a lot of times there’s bullying and people will bully somebody else but it never works out well for the bullies in the end.”

– is featuring an article about 11-year-old Kenny Allen, who recently had several inches of his scalp torn off after a pit bull attack, receiving a gift package from WWE after they learned that Allen was a huge WWE fan. The package included a CM Punk T-shirt, action figures, autographed photos and other items.

“We just thought he was a brave young man,” said WWE spokesman Kevin Hennessy. “It touched our hearts… we thought the least we could do is send him a few things and let him know that we and all the WWE superstars were thinking about him.”

I actually love the way Otunga put it. Who cares if Vince doesn’t believe in it? At least some wrestlers actually care about the Be A Star program.

  • chronoxiong

Why won’t they explain why Vince continues to bully JR on TV???

I don’t have a problem with the “bad guys” in wrestling being guilty of bullying. Wrestling, for the most part, presents us with a pretty clear good vs. evil picture, and Otunga is right in that the bad guys usually end up paying for their behavior at some point.

What I have a problem with is that the “good guys” in the WWE actually do just as much bullying as those they’re against. How many non-wrestlers has the WWE had John Cena humiliate in the last few months, either physically or verbally? That’s positive reinforcement of negative behavior. It’s something I wish the WWE would stop doing.

CC doesn’t know that Jeff was just making a joke.

Jeff doesnt know that Otunga is addressing a crowd thats probably full of kids, so isnt about to admit wrestling is fake.

I have to sit through John Cena promos. Wheres my gift package?

  • Jeff

Otunga doesnt know that wrestling is scripted apparently.
