WWE Still interested in Broken Matt Hardy gimmick?

We noted before how Impact Wrestling president Ed Nordholm leaked anĀ emailĀ conversation between him and an alleged WWE Official earlier this week, in which the Official stated that they have no interest in acquiring the Broken Matt Hardy gimmick.

Though according to the reports from F4Wonline.com, the company is still interested in bringing the Broken Universe to WWE TV, despite the reports of them not being interested.

This is said to be the reason why Matt Hardy is seen showing glimpses of his Broken persona occasionally during his appearances at Raw and through his tweets as well.

It’s also worth noticing that Matt Hardy filed an application for the trademark of the Broken gimmick back in March this year, which was denied by the authorities recently because of the following reason:

“[it] identifies only the name of a particular character/personal name; it does not function as a service mark to identify and distinguish applicantā€™s services from those of others and to indicate the source of applicantā€™s services.ā€

Now Hardy reportedly has 6 months to reply to this and if he doesn’t his claim will be dismissed. Though considering both WWE and Matt himself are interested in the gimmick, it’s highly likely that he will refile his application after consulting his lawyers.

We’ll keep you posted on any further development on the situation
