WWE interested in former Impact Champion?

It’s been rumored this week that former Impact World Champion Eli Drake might be making a jump to WWE soon. While nothing has been confirmed, Dave Meltzer responded to a fan addressing the rumors on Twitter.

While there’s been no confirmation as of yet, it’s worth noting that Eli Drake’s contract runs out in May. During an Impact conference call, NODQ.com reported, Drake addressed the situation.

The only news is that there is no news. There’s no ink to any paper at this moment.”

Eli Drake has, more or less, been carrying the weight of the company since the Alberto El Patron incident and the departure of top talents like EC3 and Bobby Lashley. However, Drake leaving for the WWE has been rumored for quite some time. Back in March, Meltzer had said that the WWE hadn’t discussed Drake at all, so it’s important to take all of this with a grain of salt.

Could the WWE be picking up yet another top Impact star in the near future?

Im still waiting to hear when Mr Anderson/Mr. Kennedy is coming back to WWE.

This just in! Even though their roster is absolutely flooded, and they don’t use half the guys they bring in, WWE is looking to sign yet another company’s top talent.

  • Killswitch

He does have mic skills and charisma. I think he’d get lost in the shuffle though.

Uh… who’s that guy again? Was he popular, does he have mic skills and in “in-ring” presence that fans could care about? Or is he just a “script jockey” like most of everyone else and jobbing?
