WWE Main Event Report – 6/19/2013

The show starts with the Payback video that was shown on Raw that re-caps all of the results and title changes.

 


 

Josh Matthews, The Miz, and Cody Rhodes are on commentary this week. Matthews points out that Cody such a good job on the analyst panel at Payback that he’s joining them on commentary tonight.

The Shield vs. Justin Gabriel and The Uso’s

Gabriel and Ambrose start. Lock up. Gabriel gets slammed to the ground, Gabriel hops up and hits an arm grad. Gabriel connects with a dropkick. Rollins in. Gabriel takes Ambrose out. They trade blows. Rollins throws Gabriel onto the apron, and then connects with cross body. Jey Uso in. The Uso’s double team him. Jimmy gets the tag, and Ambrose saves Rollins from getting hit.

As we come back, Rollins tags in Roman Reigns. Roman throws Gabriel into the Shield’s corner. Uso gets the tag, and dominates until Roman unloads with punches, kicks, and headbutts. Ambrose gets in and hits several kicks to the gut for a two. They trade blows. Headlock on Jey. Uso powers out, Ambrose counters and tags in Rollins. Rollins connects with multiple kicks. Roman gets in and hits a slam on Jey, followed by kicks in the corner. Jey hits him a few times, but gets put in a headlock from Reigns. Jey jumps over Reigns for the tag but couldn’t connect. Kick to Reigns. Jimmy gets tagged in and so does Ambrose. Jimmy hits the Samoan Slam, and then a slam on Rollins. Two count on Ambrose. Ambrose and Jimmy collide with a double cross body. Gabriel tags in, kicks Reigns. Uso’s get in to help, which allows Ambrose to get up and trip Justin. Ambrose connects with the DDT for the win.

Winners: The Shield (8:48)

-Video package highlighting CM Punk’s win over Jericho from Payback. Punk’s match with Del Rio from Raw is featured as well. He gets the victory via count-out. Brock Lesnar’s music hits. Lesnar hits him with an F5.

Colter gets on the mic and rips Sin Cara for wearing a mask.

Sin Cara vs. Antonio Cesaro – w/ Zeb Colter

Lock up. Cesaro throws him down right away. Cesaro trips him, and stomps on his gut. Cara tried to counter, but Cesaro slammed him and pinned him multiple times. Cara counters with some flips. Cesaro goes outside to talk with Colter. Cesaro gets back in and kicks Cara, followed by an uppercut. Cesaro puts his foot on Cara’s face, and then tried to take his mask off. Cara countered with a huricanrana. Cesaro stopped Sin Cara by pulling his head down on the ropes. Antonio then threw him into the barricade.

After the break, Cesaro puts Sin Cara in a chin lock. Cara gets out with punches. Cara gets hit with a power slam for a two. Cesaro flips him and then hits a double stomp to the stomach. Cesaro followed it with a gutwrench. He tries to rip off Sin Cara;s mask again. Cara hits several kicks, and then his big double spin around the body turned into a front flip. Cara then hit the flying armdrag from the turnbuckle. Cesaro rolls out but then gets hit with a crossbody. Sin Cara pins him for a two. Cesaro locks in a fake chin lock according to Rhodes. Cara powers out again. Sin Cara hits a kick from the apron. Goes for a cross body, Cesaro catches him, but it gets turned into a roll up for a two. Sin Cara gets thrown into the air only to be hit with an uppercut. Cesaro picks him up by the head and swings him around. Neutralizer connects for Antonio to get the win.

Winner: Antonio Cesaro (9:06)

Cesaro and Colter get in the ring together and say “We the people.” Rhodes and Miz predict Cesaro will be a future world champion.

Josh Matthews announces that the SmackDown main event has been changed to Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton.

Aksana vs. Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn immediately goes on the attack. Aksana comes back with punches. Kaitlyn gets her head slammed into the mat several times. Aksana connects with knees to the back. Headlock on Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn punches her way out. Aksana hits a sidewalk slam-type move. Pin for a two. Another headlock. Kaitlyn connects with a slam onto her knee. Aksana gets hit with elbows. Kaitlyn slams her face into the mat. Aksana gets kicked, followed by a spear for the three.

Winner: Kaitlyn (3:26)

The Rob Van Dam video airs, and the commentators hype his return.

Raw Rebound: Mark Henry has an “announcement”. And of course, he wants John Cena to stay in the ring. He says Cena will go on to be the greatest WWE Champion of all time. Henry says he hasn’t had as much success as John has, but he has done good. Henry gets to hold up the WWE title. Henry gives the title back because it’s something you have to earn. He talks about his wife and kids. Cena comes into the ring to shake his hand and hug him, but Henry turns the tables with a World’s Strongest Slam. I will admit, I was totally fooled on Monday like everyone else.

Then they show the backstage interview with Renee Young and Mark Henry, where Henry states he is going to capture the WWE Championship.
