WWE might be ”looking for a cheap finish” in IC Title match

Finn Balor is scheduled to challenge Bobby Lashley for the Intercontinental Title at Elimination Chamber. However, Lio Rush will also team up with Lashley, so it will be a Handicap match. The match could go either way.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed this peculiar booking. He simply didn’t see any sense in WWE booking a Handicap match for Lashley and Balor’s feud. So, WWE might be looking to end the match in a cheap way.

“If Bobby’s going to retain then it makes no [sense], you know because I thought the whole idea was for Finn to be able to beat Lio Rush and get the championship that way and avoid Bobby Lashley losing to Finn.”

“Obviously it could go either way, but I wouldn’t have booked — If it was like the fourth meeting down and Lio Rush had kept interfering so then Finn goes, ‘I want them in a handicap match,’ that’s one thing. When you start off in a handicap match rather than doing the big singles match that kinda tells me that you’re looking for a cheap finish.”

We will have to wait and see what happens at Elimination Chamber. If Balor manages to win the Intercontinental Title, it’ll be a great addition for him.
