WWE NXT Report – 12/18/14

We start off tonight’s show with a look back at last week’s NXT Takeover special, including the crowning of a new NXT Champion in Sami Zayn. We then see how his best friend Kevin Owens would make an impact in the company on his first night.

We are in Winter Park, Florida and your announcers are Rich Brennan, Jason Albert, and Corey Graves.

Adrian Neville makes his way to the ring.

Adrian says for what it’s worth, it should be Sami Zayn out here right now. Last week at Takeover, they went to war. Last week, at Takeover, he had the best match of his career. He put in a performance that he is proud of. He says that he can hold his hands up and say that at Takeover, the better man won.

Sami won and he lost. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but Sami Zayn thoroughly deserves to be the NXT Champion. It should be Sami Zayn out here right now, and he wishes he could introduce him and say that coming to the ring is his friend Sami Zayn. He wishes he could celebrate with him and shake Sami’s hand, but he can’t.

Sami is not here tonight and he will not be here tonight, thanks to one person. It is someone he knows very well. That man is Kevin Owens. Adrian tells Kevin that he hopes he is proud of what he did last week. He hopes that there is someone proud of what Kevin did because he is not.

Kevin Owens’ music plays and he makes his way to the stage.

Adrian tells Kevin that what he did last week was shameful. On your debut in NXT, you chose to do that? Shame on you. He says that he doesn’t know what to say.

Kevin says that he doesn’t care what Adrian has to say because his opinion is irrelevant to him. Kevin says that he cares about finally being here. He cares about the fact that Sami Zayn is not here because he is.

He doesn’t have a problem with Adrian. He came here for one reason. That is to get to the absolute top and he said that he will fight anyone and everyone on his way there. If Adrian has a problem with him and he wants to fight, he has a fight.

Owens leaves the ring and walks away.

We take a look at what happened during the Takeover Pre Show when Becky Lynch attacked Bayley for interrupting an interview with Sasha Banks.

Becky Lynch is in the locker room and Devin Taylor asks her about the attack on Bayley last week.

Becky says that the only thing that changed is her ability to see things clearly. Sasha taught her to see the light. She saw that smiling and having the fans behind you doesn’t matter if you keep losing. The only person she can depend on besides herself is Sasha. She wants Bayley to look into her eyes as her career ends.

We go to commercial.

Tyler Breeze says that he will be taking some time away from NXT because he is doing some modeling over the holiday. He will let us know where he is.

Rich tells us that William Regal has made the match between Adrian Neville and Kevin Owens official.

Match Number One: Becky Lynch versus Bayley

Bayley with a take down and forearms to Becky. She gets on top of Becky and connects with more forearms. Bayley with a running back elbow and then she hits a basement clothesline and gets a near fall. Bayley with shoulders in the corner but Becky with a knee to the midsection.

Bayley with an elbow to the back of the neck followed by elbows. Bayley with a running back elbow into the corner. Bayley with a forearm but Becky with punches. Bayley runs Becky into the turnbuckles and connects with more shoulders and then Bayley gets a near fall. Becky avoids being sent into the turnbuckles and so does Bayley. Becky with a kick to the back of the injured knee and she tries to hyperextend the knee.

Bayley misses double sledges and Becky with a kick, but Bayley with two double sledges and a suplex. Bayley gets a near fall. Becky with a shoulder and she goes for the leg and she finally takes Bayley to the mat. Bayley avoids a figure four and Bayley with a rollup but Becky rolls through and she applies the four leg clover and Bayley taps out.

Winner: Becky Lynch

The announcers talk about the Women’s Title match from Takeover.

We go to Renee Young with Charlotte from after the match last week. She congratulates Charlotte on her victory and asks her about facing her former BFF. Charlotte says that she also made her debut on Raw last week and it has been a whirlwind of a week. Sasha is tough, but Charlotte showed that she is the best Diva in the WWE and NXT is her throne.

Next week, we will have a rematch of the Women’s Title match.

We are back and we see photos from the Tag Title match at Takeover.

The challengers, Aiden English and Simon Gotch entering William Regal’s office and things go black and white. Aiden and Simon have something to show William. The show him the video from the end of the match at Takeover.

William says that the legal man was not pinned in the match. William says that is a dreadful oversight. He will talk to the referee about it and he will give them a rematch against the Lucha Dragons.

Aiden and Simon want the match tonight, but William says that the show is already booked for tonight, but he will let them know.

They leave the office and we return to color.

Match Number Two: Bull Dempsey versus Jesus DeLeon

Bull with a kick and forearm to the back followed by a punch. Dempsey with a knee to the ribs. Dempsey with an elbow drop followed by a head butt. Dempsey with a body block and he goes up top for the diving head butt and he gets the three count.

Winner: Bull Dempsey

Bull leaves the ring after his match and Baron Corbin makes his way to the ring for his match and he walks past Dempsey.

Match Number Three: Baron Corbin versus Corbin’s Fodder

Corbin with a punch and he hits End of Days for the three count.

Winner: Baron Corbin

After the match, Corbin walks up to Dempsey who did not move from the ramp during the match. Dempsey pushes Corbin and then he walks away.

We are back with a look at Sami Zayn being taken away on a stretcher after the attack by Kevin Owens.

Enzo and Colin do their usual pre match introduction. Colin tells the Ascension if you want to jump them from behind, they have gifts for you. Colin and Enzo have their version of the Twelve Days of Christmas.

Match Number Four: Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady (with Carmella) versus Konnor and Viktor

Viktor and Colin start things off and they lock up. Colin missesa punch and Viktor with a punch an Canadian Lifters. The referee warns Viktor and Colin punches Viktor and follows with a knee toh te midsection. Colin with a Vigilante Stinger Splash into the corner and Enzo tags in.

Enzo gets in Konnor’s face and he makes sure that Konnor cannot get him. Viktor with an STO for the three count.

Winners: Konnor and Viktor

After the match, Viktor says for the last two years they have proven themselves to be the very best in NXT. Last week was beginner’s luck. As long as they are still standing, the war with Finn Balor and Hideo Itami is far from over.

Konnor says the next time they meet, Finn and Hideo will fall while they will rise.

Match Number Five: Kevin Owens versus Adrian Neville

Owens backs into the ropes and goes to the floor to get into Neville’s head. Owens takes his time getting back itnot her ing and he misses a punch. Neville tries for an O’Connor Roll but Owens holds on to the ropes. Neville with a drop kick and Owens goes to the floor again. Owens gets back onto the apron and he gets back in the ring and he punches and kicks Neville.

Owens with a forearm and chop. Neville with a head scissors and back heel kick but Owens gets to the floor before Neville can hit the running drop kick to the head. Owens takes his time getting back into the ring for a moment and goes back to the floor. Neville misses a baseball slide and Owens with a clothesline to the back of the head.

Owens chokes Neville with his boot and then he slams Neville’s head into the apron. Owens sends Neville back into the ring. Owens with a chop and he chokes Neville in the corner. We go to commercial.

We are back and Neville punches Owens. Owens with a forearm but Neville tries for a punch but he misses. Owens sends Neville face first into the turnbuckles and he follows with a cannonball. Owens gets a near fall. Owens kicks Neville and he punches Neville in the midsection. Owens with a back elbow and then he kicks Neville as he taunts him.

Owens picks up Neville by the ear and he connects with knees to the chest. The referee checks on Neville and Owens gets a near fall. Owens picks up Neville and then drives him into the mat and he gets a near fall. Owens with a forearm to Neville but Neville with a chop.

Owens with forearms to the back and then he kicks Neville until the referee warns him. Owens chokes Neville. Neville struggles to get back to his feet and Owens with a head butt to send Neville back to the mat. Owens with an Irish whip but he misses a splash into the corner. Neville with a round kick to the temple. Neville with a running European uppercut.

Owens with a knee toh te midsection but Neville with a back heel kick and a running boot to the temple. Neville goes to the apron and he hits a springboard drop kick and he gets a near fall. Neville goes up top for Red Arrow but Owens stops him. Neville with a forearm and he goes for a springboard move but Owens with a gutbuster and then he hits a senton for a near fall.

Owens chops Neville and then he puts Neville on the turnbuckles. Owens tries for a superplex but Neville knocks him off. Neville is knocked off the turnbuckles when Owens hits the ropes and then Owens hits an elevated DDT but Neville kicks out. Owens gets Neville on his shoulders but Neville gets to his feet. Owens with elbows.

Neville sends Owens into the ropes and hits a German suplex followed by a kick. Neville hits a corkscrew plancha onto Owens. Neville tries to pick up Owens but Owens sends Neville into the ring post and the referee makes the ten count.

Double Count Out

After the match, Owens is to is feet first and he stands over Neville, who is still down. Owens picks up Neville and he hits a power bomb onto the apron.

We go to credits.
