WWE NXT Results For June 24th: Balor vs. Rhyno

Welcome to NXT, we are shown the Triple H speech from last week talking about the late Dusty Rhodes. We get a live shot of inside the arena. Hideo Itami walks down to the ring to open the show. He said that he’ll be back better than ever and when he does, he’ll be coming after the NXT title. This leads to Kevin Owens walking out to the stage.

 


 

Owens said that that in Tokyo, he’ll be walking out as NXT Champion against Finn Balor. He flubbed one of his lines and recovered nicely by saying that he’s stumbling over his lines like Itami trying to speak English.

He said that he’s here for 2 reasons. He said that he did nothing to Itami and said that if he did attack Itami then he wouldn’t be standing. He said that he wants an apologize for Itami calling him a bad person a few weeks ago.

Itami said that Owens is a great champion, but a horrible human being. Finn Balor came out and attacked Owens on the stage. Rhyno attacked Balor and laid him out on the stage.

Tag Team Match: Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. Jason Jordan and Sylvester Lefort

Jordan and Enzo start things off, Jordan beat down Enzo until Enzo pushed Jordan into Lefort, who was standing on the apron. Enzo rolled up Jordan for the win.

Winner: Enzo and Big Cass.

Editors Note: I was having major issues with the network during this match.

Samoa Joe cut a backstage promo about wanting to be able to fight Kevin Owens and repeated “let me fight.”

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Dana Brooke vs. Cassie

Cassie with an arm drag and then a head take over, Brooke rolled to the floor to use the to rope to her advantage. Brooke locked in a leg and arm submission while Emma cheered her on at ringside. Cassie fought out and fought back with some clotheslines. Cassie with a roundhouse kick, but Brooke knocked her down with a right hand then hit her finisher for the win.

Winner: Brooke

Charlotte cut a backstage promo about how she’ll be kicking Dana Brooke’s a*s sooner than later.

We are shown the second part of Finn Balor’s career documentary.

-Commercial Break-

Tag Team Match: Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley vs. Tom Falor and Angelo Dawkins

Once again major Network issues. Ryder got the hot tag, hit the Broski Boot on Dawkins, but Tom Falor jumped into break up the pin attempt. Mojo took out Falor with a tackle. He and Mojo hit their double team move in the corner on Dawkins for the win.

Winner: Ryder and Rawley.

Eva Marie is shown requesting a match against one of the Divas in NXT while talking to William Regal backstage. Regal said that he would give her a match soon.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Finn Balor vs. Rhyno with Kevin Owens on commentary.

No lock up here, Balor goes right after Rhyno and lands some strikes. Kevin Owens is picking apart Bryon Saxton on commentary. Hilarious stuff. Balor tossed Rhyno to the floor and took him out with a dive over the top rope. Back in the ring, Rhyno knocked him down and landed a big chop to the chest. Rhyno hit a spine buster for a near fall. Rhyno locked in a chin lock and we cut to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back from break with Balor landing a drop kick on Rhyno, but Rhyno caught him on the second attempt in midair and hit a belly to belly suplex. Rhyno missed a clothesline and was kicked in the head by Balor. This leads to Balor going to the top rope and Owens walking down to the ring. Balor drop kicked Owens on the ropes and when he turned around, Rhyno hit another belly to belly suplex. Rhyno went for the GORE, but kicked in the face and followed up with the sling blade. Balor to the top rope to connect with the double foot stomp for the win.

Winner: Balor.

Post-match, Owens attacked Balor, but Samoa Joe ran down to the ring to make the save. Joe and Balor stood tall in the ring while staring down Rhyno and Owens to close the show.
