WWE RAW Results For August 31st, 2015: Sting Addresses Seth Rollins

Welcome to the WWE Raw pre-show and we are live on the WWE Network. Scott Stanford, Corey Graves and David Otunga welcome us into the show. Otunga and Graves give Stanford a gift as his birthday was last week. They hype what we will see tonight, which is the Beat The Clock Challenge for the #1 contendership for the Divas Championship. Also, Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev.

The usual promo code for Shop WWE is shown. There is a recap video of last week’s episode of Raw.WWE announced that The Dudley Boyz will take on The New Day tonight on RAW!

Braun Strowman vs. Dean Ambrose is set for tonight’s episode of RAW.

Welcome to WWE Monday Night Raw, there is a recap video of last week’s episode of Raw. Sting walks down to the ring to kick off the show. He said that it was good to be back in Tampa. He brought up his loss to Triple H at WrestleMania 31. He said he will always have respect for him and that was then and this is now and its Monday Night RAW! He praised Seth Rollins and said that he’s no Triple H. He said that Rollins holds the most prestigious title in all of wrestling. He said that it’s not right for Rollins to think he’s better than those who have come before him. He said he has won other wrestling titles in his career, but not for the WWE World Title. His last chapter will be written at Night of Champions when he becomes World Champion. He will prove that Rollins is just a little boy not a man. He better buckle up because he’s going to be on a heck of a ride. Sting walked to the back. Seth Rollins is shown talking to Stephanie McMahon in the back. He’s upset about Sting returning and challenging him for his World Title. Stephanie McMahon pointed out that Triple H is a better man that Triple H. Legends are built over time, not in one night. Rollins wonders where his statue is. Stephanie told him to go ask Sting where it is.

-Commercial Break-

Singles match: Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev.

They lock up, Ziggler caught him with a dropkick sending him to the floor. Rusev regrouped at ringside then put the boots to him in the corner. Rusev with a back kick to the ribs of Ziggler then locked in a chin lock, which Ziggler fought out of with a jawbreaker. Ziggler missed a splash in the corner and he went crashing face first into the turnbuckle. Rusev went for a back suplex, but blocked and Ziggler locked in the sleeper on the big man. Rusev backed Ziggler into the corner to break the hold. He then sent Ziggler to the floor to send us to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Ziggler rallying back and hitting a big spike DDT to Rusev that changes the momentum in this match. Ziggler ducked a clothesline and hit one of his own. Ziggler with a splash in the corner, then went for a neck breaker, but blocked. Rusev with a suplex then a front flip splash for 2. Rusev missed with a super kick and Ziggler rolled up him up for 2. Rusev with a spinning back kick for 2. Rusev off the ropes, but Ziggler hit a superkick out of nowhere for 2. Rusev rolled out of the ring, Ziggler followed him and Rusev tossed Ziggler into the ring steps. Rusev went for a tackle on Ziggler, but missed and ate the ring steps. Both men just made it back into the ring before the count of ten. Rusev hit a super kick to Ziggler. Rusev went for the Accolade, but Ziggler rolled under him and hit the Zig Zag. Ziggler went for the cover, but Summer Rae ran into the ring to attack Ziggler causing the DQ.

Winner: Ziggler via DQ.

Post-match, Lana attacked Summer Rae and kicked her in the face. Lana and Ziggler walked to the back to end the segment.

-Commercial Break-

We see Dolph Ziggler going into his locker room, then all of a sudden Summer Rae walks in behind him.

Nikki Bella with her sister Brie and Alicia Fox are in the ring. Nikki Bella cuts a promo about how she has fourteen days until she becomes the longest reigning Divas Champion ever.

Beat The Clock Challenge: Becky Lynch vs. Alicia Fox

They lock up, Fox with a shoulder block, then puts the boots to her in the corner. Lynch fought back and hit the Disarmer for the win.

Winner: Lynch in 3:21.

-Commercial Break-

Ryback is shown cutting a promo backstage about his upcoming match with Big Show then all of a sudden Summer Rae is shown screaming and running out of Dolph Ziggler’s locker room. Ziggler is shown just wearing a towel.

Intercontinental Championship match: Ryback © vs. Big Show with Miz on commentary.

They lock up, then exchange a series of right hands. Big Show with a big clothesline. Big Show tossed Ryback into the corner just so he could hit a clothesline. Big Show started talking trash to Miz. Big Show with a reverse DDT for 2. Big Show grabbed a microphone, he started to cut a promo, but Ryback picked him up for the Shell Shock, but Big Show reversed and dropped on Ryback for 2. Big Show locked in a chin lock, but Ryback fought out of it and hit a shoulder block. Ryback with a thesz press then went for a splash, but Big Show caught him and went for the chokeslam, but blocked and Ryback hit a spinebuster for 2. Ryback went for the Meathook Clothesline, but ran into a chokeslam for 2. Big Show went to the top rope, but Ryback knocked him down with a powerslam off the top rope. Ryback went for the Meathook Clothesline, but Big Show reversed and hit him with a spear for a near fall. Miz jumped on the apron to distract Big Show, Ryback hit the Shell Shock on Big Show off the distraction and won the match.

Winner and still champ: Ryback

Beat The Clock Challenge: Brie Bella vs. Charlotte

A cat fight breaks out as Charlotte attempts to pin Brie Bella as fast as she can. Brie Bella is just running from Charlotte at this point. Charlotte finally got her hands on Brie, she hit a neck breaker and then the Natural Selection in a very sloppy match.

Winner: Charlotte in 1:40.

The Dudley Boyz cut a backstage promo about being back in WWE. They plan to put everyone through a table and then to become WWE Tag Team Champions again. He said that they want to become ten time tag team champions.

-Commercial Break-

Singles match: Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro

The match starts out with both men brawling. Cesaro went for a suplex, but blocked by Owens and he landed a series of right hands. Cesaro with a big boot then hit a suplex followed by a double foot stomp for 2. Owens with some right hands, then rolled to the floor. Cesaro followed him and hit a big uppercut. Back in the ring, Cesaro hit a crossbody for 2. Owens with some more right hands then mocked Cesaro for having the Cesaro section. Owens with an Irish whip, then hit the rolling cannonball. Owens with a headlock, but Cesaro fought out. Owens tossed him into ring post shoulder first. Owens with a spinning neck breaker for 2.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Cesaro going for the sharpshooter, but blocked and Owens hit a superkick for 2. Owens went for the cannonball, but missed. Cesaro hit a powerslam then transitioned into the crossface submission hold, but Owens managed to make it to the ropes. Cesaro went to the apron, but Owens knocked him off and Cesaro hit his ribs hard on the announce table. Back in the ring, Owens rushed Cesaro, he kicked him in the ribs, then hit the pop-up powerbomb for the win.

Winner: Owens.

-Commercial Break-

Dolph Ziggler is seen talking to Lana about his incident with Summer Rae. Lana is upset by this and walks away in disgust.

Bray Wyatt walks down to the ring with Luke Harper and Braun Strowman. Strowman cuts a promo about how this is not the beginning, but the end of Dean Ambrose.

Singles match: Dean Ambrose vs. Braun Strowman

They lock up, Strowman begins throwing Ambrose around like a rag doll. He tossed Ambrose out to ringside then smashed Ambrose’s face into the barricade. Strowman randomly pushed Reigns thus leading to a brawl and the DQ.

Winner: Strowman via DQ.

A brawl breaks out between the three men. Strowman locked in his submission hold on Reigns until Ambrose hit him with a chair in the back. Strowman no sold it, Strowman then headbutted him. He stood over the two men to close the segment.

Seth Rollins cuts a backstage promo about how he will call out Sting later tonight and demand that his statue be returned.

-Commercial Break-

Beat The Clock Challenge: Paige vs. Sasha Banks

Paige immediately goes after Sasha Banks. Banks tripped her and Paige went crashing into the turnbuckle head first. Banks ran at Paige, but Paige rolled her up for 2. They trade pin attempts. Paige with a running knee to the face of Banks. Paige it the RamPaige, but Banks rolled out of the ring before she can pin her and time expired.

The number one contender is Charlotte.

-Commercial Break-

Lana is interviewed by Renee Young about Summer Rae walking into Dolph Ziggler’s locker room. A pre-taped interview with Rae is shown before she can respond. Rae said that he wanted her to talk, but when she got in there. He stripped naked. He apparently gave her “the look.” She walked out right after that. Lana doesn’t say anything, but is instead seen crying and walked away.

The New Day walk down to the ring cutting a delightful promo about how they need to save more tables. They give examples of how we all use tables. Pool tables, poker tables, dining tables and more. The New Day pull out a special table from under the ring. The table has bubble wrap on top of it. Woods said that they need to save the tables, then broke out a chant about “save the tables.”

Tag team match: The Dudley Boyz vs. New Day

Bubba Ray Dudley and Kofi Kingston start things off. Bubba with a headlock, but Kingston fought out. Kingston with a back kick, then shot off the ropes and right into a clothesline. Devon tagged in, he hit a splash on Kingston and Big E, who jumped into the ring. The Dudleys send the tag team to the floor as we go to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with The New Day in control of Devon. Kingston and Big E double team Devon until he hits a clothesline when Kingston was in midair attempting a clothesline. He manages to get the hot tag to Bubba. Bubba cleaned house on Kingston with a series of clotheslines and splashes. Bubba with a sidewalk slam, then tossed in Xavier Woods by his ear. Devon did the same to Woods, but this time out of the ring and to the floor. Bubba with a powerslam to Big E, but Kingston attacked him from behind. Devon with a blind tag and hit the 3D on Kingston for the win.

Winners: Dudleys

The Dudleys went for the 3D on Big E, but Woods pulled him out of the ring and walked to the back.

-Commercial Break-

Seth Rollins walked down to the ring for our closing segment. He said that he’ll beat Sting at the Night of Champions PPV, but before then, he wants his statue back. Stephanie McMahon walked down to the ring. She said that Sting is getting in his head. Stephanie said that he should be smarter than this and that he is the man of the WWE. Rollins demanded that Sting gets out here and tell him where his statue is. Instead, John Cena walked down to the ring. Cena said that Rollins is an idiot because he thinks he is friends with the Authority. He said that they chose him because he will do anything they want with no consequences. Cena said that they (Authority) do what’s best for business. Look at the names, Kane, Randy Orton and Batista. They got rid of those people and will do the same to him (Rollins) shortly. Cena points out that Rollins owes him a rematch for the U.S Championship at Night of Champions PPV. Cena asked Stephanie McMahon if he has his rematch or not. She looks torn by this and said yes. Cena walked to the back with Seth Rollins arguing with Stephanie McMahon.

Sting walks out to the stage, he stands next to Cena and stares at Rollins in the ring to close the show.
